We are in an autumnal state of mind….
If you ever have wanted to order a Myrtle topiary, now is the time. The growers prefer shipping during mild temperatures like late spring and early autumn.
My tips for keeping your Myrtle alive:
Water almost every day while indoors.
Keep in a bright, sunny window.
If you will be gone for an extended period of time, place topiary in the sink with an inch of water so it will drink through the bottom of the planter
Take outside to shake it every now and then especially if you notice leaves dropping.
If leaves droop, place in the sink and water well for the next couple days.
If you accidentally forget to water and it looks dead, trim it back, water well, and wait. Most likely can revive it this way. Will take time, but patience is a virtue.
If you lose one altogether, chalk it up as a bouquet of flowers that you enjoyed briefly but have since wilted.
Did I forget anything? Let me know if you have ever tried growing a topiary.
