Here’s a 25-minute meal perfect for busy weeknights, meal prep or Sunday dinner. 🤌🏼
SHELL PASTA WITH MEAT SAUCE
INGREDIENTS
Olive oil
1 box of large sea shell pasta
2.5 pounds lean ground beef
Salt, cracked pepper- to taste
6 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 white onion, diced
2 cups tomatoes, diced
3 tbsp tomato paste
2 15 oz cans of tomato sauce
Fresh basil and parsley
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 parmigiana cheese (plus extra for toppings)
DIRECTIONS
1. Cook pasta according to package instructions.
2. Add olive oil to a large pot on medium heat.
3. Gently place ground beef into the pot. Season with cracked pepper and salt. Break apart and let cook for 5-7 minutes. Drain if necessary.
4. Add garlic, onions and tomatoes. Gently mix.
5. Add tomato paste and tomato sauce. Gently mix.
6. Lower heat, toss in fresh basil + parsley, mix, cover and let simmer for 10 minutes.
7. Drain pasta and add to the pot with the meat sauce. Add heavy cream and cheese. Gently mix.
8. Top with fresh herbs, parmigiana cheese, cracked pepper/ red pepper flakes (optional) before serving.
