#AD we're excited to share this affordable bathroom refresh #dwelloctoberstudio recently designed for a local apartment owner. for this project, we teamed up with @loweshomeimprovement, exclusively using @loweshomeimprovement products to transform the bathroom. this apartment did not have a lot of existing character to work with, so we opted for a darker, moody aesthetic to make the space feel warmer and more welcoming. our goal was to choose more durable higher quality materials that would withstand the test of time as this is a rental, all while keeping the renovation budget in check. #LowesPartner #dwelloctober

#AD and now it's time for the after! for this project, #dwelloctoberstudio teamed up with @loweshomeimprovement, exclusively using @loweshomeimprovement products to transform a bathroom for a local apartment owner, all on a budget. we were inspired by this beautiful mauve paint color. we applied vertical shiplap paneling to the lower half of the walls to add texture and visual interest. to balance out the pink, we opted for darker tones when selecting tile and vanity, then added a touch of brushed brass for warmth. #LowesPartner #dwelloctober

when designing the bedrooms at the #mixedusemini, we aimed to give each bedroom its own identity and create unique and special spaces for guests. inspired by Marblehead’s nautical past, we chose this beautiful @sanderson1860 wallpaper featuring red, white, and blue sailboats and paired it with vertical shiplap paneling to provide both visual interest and durability. we pulled a shade of blue from the wallpaper and painted the paneling, trim, and doors in both bedrooms this vibrant color. a vintage rattan nightstand, coral Jenny Lind spindle bed, and custom embroidered scalloped sheets make this bedroom an inviting and relaxing space for a #dwelloctoberstay getaway! #dwelloctober

let's talk about design inspiration! when we first view a potential renovation project, we are often inspired by some small detail and know certain products we'd like to incorporate into the design from the very beginning. in the case of the #mixedusedmini, we knew we wanted to use this lobster print wallpaper by @sarafitzstudio from the get go! this playful wallpaper is just perfect in the entryway—it welcomes guests and sets the vibe for their stay as soon as they walk through the door. a custom-built bench and cabinets transform this formerly dead space into a useful and efficient mudroom. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober

this fun @sarafitz lobster wallpaper was the perfect choice for one of the guest rooms at the #mixusedmini! vaulting the ceiling made such a dramatic difference and gave the space a bright, airy feeling. bold blue trim paint adds a pop of color, while natural rattan and cane accents provide texture. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober

despite being a foreclosure, this #dwelloctoberrealestate mid-century modern fixer-upper had great bones and was just in need of some TLC. the floor plan flowed really nicely throughout the house and all of the rooms were a great size, so #dwelloctoberstudio kept the original layout exactly the same. in the living room, the old leaking windows were switched out for modern black ones, the wall to wall carpeting was removed, and the original hardwood floors were refinished to showcase their natural beauty. a custom-built wood divider creates separation between the front entry and the living room and accentuates mid-century modern feel. #dwelloctober

sometimes less is more. #dwelloctoberstudio gave this fireplace a makeunder by removing the stone veneer and traditional wood mantel and replacing it with a modern, minimalist dark stone surround. the wood burning fireplace was converted to gas and features ceramic fire spheres. #dwelloctoberrealestate #dwelloctober

our goal with this #dwelloctoberstudio design project was to update a '90s builder grade home with lighter, brighter finishes that had a classic, yet modern feel. the living room was a long, rectangular space that had historically proved challenging to find a cohesive furniture layout. to remedy this, we added custom built-in bookcases and a more substantial mantel to make the fireplace the focal point of the room and create character in the home that looked as if it had always existed. new windows, light oak hardwood floors, and fresh white paint transformed the room into an inviting place to relax and unwind. #dwelloctober

with this #dwelloctoberstudio design project, we made the decision to open up the wall that divided the kitchen and formal dining room and create one large open space for eating and entertaining. the traditional dining table is perfect for family dinners and holiday meals, while the peninsula offers a more casual seating option. stay tuned to see the remodeled kitchen! #dwelloctober

not all room updates have to incorporate major changes to have a dramatic impact. for this bedroom refresh with #dwelloctoberstudio, we made simple cosmetic updates, but kept the floor plan the same to create a big impact. the result was a tranquil and modern bedroom space. #dwelloctober

when it comes to designing bedrooms, we often like to keep the finishes simple in order to introduce color and pattern through furniture and textiles. in the primary bedroom at the #goldengirlscondo, we opted for plain white walls and brought in lots of bold colors and textures through the bedding and artwork. #dwelloctober

have you ever considered converting a standard tub/shower combo into a walk in shower? we made this decision in the primary bath at the #goldengirlscondo to make the unit more accessible and functional for everyday life. we loved this pink starburst pattern cement tile so much that we added it to the outside walls of the shower as well to make even more of a statement. the faux terrazzo tile used on the floor is the perfect complement and adds a bit of texture and sparkle to the space. #dwelloctober

never underestimate the power of a fresh coat of white paint! can you believe that this is the same space? when updating the living room at the #goldengirlscondo, we removed the old bookshelves, allowing the black metal windows to serve as the focal point of the room. next, we painted the walls with our favorite white, @benjaminmoore Chantilly Lace, and swapped out the wood floors for a modern epoxy finish. these simple cosmetic changes completely transformed the space. #dwelloctober

our goal with the full bathroom at the #witchymodern house was to create a spa-like oasis. a massive walk-in shower anchored one end of the bathroom, while this beautiful freestanding tub was located at the other end. the tub provides the perfect spot for soaking while admiring the beautiful cement tile! #dwelloctober

we loved how the living area at the #witchymodernhouse was a step lower than the kitchen. this elevation change gave the living room a peaceful, cozy feel. white walls, white oak flooring, and updated lighting really transformed the space into a large and inviting sitting area. #dwelloctober

we went bold with the tile in the #witchymodernhouse bathroom, using a black and white star pattern cement tile for the floor and floating shower bench. since the star tile was so eye catching, we kept it simple with the wall tile, opting for a matte white kitkat tile stacked in a vertical grid pattern. #dwelloctober

our decision to reconfigure the first floor layout of the #sisterhouse was motivated by the desire to create a more functional kitchen with an open concept living area. when we first saw the house, we absolutely loved the original dining room. because the room was situated at the back of the house, every window looked out onto trees, creating a quiet, peaceful atmosphere. we thought that this beautiful space would be better utilized as a kitchen rather than a formal dining room reserved for special occasions. #dwelloctober

as much as we loved the powder blue 1960s style bathroom at the #sisterhouse, the fixtures were starting to rust and the plumbing needed to be updated. when redesigning the bathroom, our goal was to bring back classic finishes that tied in with the home's Craftsman roots. we opted for classic white subway tile, moody charcoal walls, and a beautiful pine vanity to give this bathroom a timeless look. head over to our blog for sources and more details on the transformation. #dwelloctober

simple layout changes can make a huge difference in the looks and functionality of a space! if you swipe to see the before photo, you'll notice that the toilet was the centerpiece of the kitchen in the original layout of the #startercondo. we closed up a doorway and ran cabinets along the new wall, increasing the amount of storage and counter space in the kitchen. the bathroom door was relocated so you entered through the laundry room. personally, we found this floor plan much more appealing. our blog with more details and sourcing info is coming soon. #dwelloctober
