Do you have osteopenia or osteoporosis? I was diagnosed with osteopenia and then it slid into osteoporosis. So, I am moving and making a difference with my body and utilizing a weighted vest on my morning walks. Tuesday morning and it’s a beautiful day to take a walk while wearing my vest. I decided to up my game this year by taking steps that will support my health in midlife as a pro-age woman. As a part of that plan, I got a weighted vest. I wanted to improve my bone health and by adding this vest to my morning walks, it’s a lot like lifting weights, but you get a good walk in. (Disclaimer: this is not medical advice. See your doctor to ask if this would work for you.) The recommendation is to start with 10% of your weight and then build up from that. I went with a little less and started with 8 pounds. It is also recommended to start with a shorter walk time then build up. I started with 10 minutes and have since then slowly increased my time. My overall feeling is that I am stronger and my next bone density test will show the results. I will link this Vest as well as everything I am wearing down to the socks.
