Unlacquered brass is stunning…but sometimes it’s a little too gold/yellow right out of the package. There are ways to speed up the aging/patina process…and I found a way to do just that, by using products I already had in my home 🙌🏻 savings Start with putting some white vinegar + salt in a deep container, and something to prop up the brass piece. Wearing gloves, clean your unlacquered brass with some rubbing alcohol to remove any oils or residue from anyone touching it…and dry well! Place your brass piece on the stand/prop that is in the container. Seal the container with a lid (that will not touch the brass piece) or Press + Seal. I’m not a scientist, but it is something with the chemical reaction & vapors that age the brass. Let your brass sit for however long you want (I let my piece sit for 2-2.5 hours). The first one I did though, I checked on it every 30 minutes to see how dark it was getting. Once it’s done, while wearing gloves, remove the piece from the container and let dry (it feels tacky right out of the container). Once dry, buff with some FINE steel wool. I’m all about adding warmth where I can and making pieces feel more like us! These brass hooks were stunning before, but aging them made me love them even more! Would you try this method on unlacquered brass pieces you have? brasspatina diysolutions unlacqueredbrass homemadesolutions rejuvenation @rejuvenation LTKVideo LTKHome LTKFindsUnder100
