Did you know that fumes that are produced when overheating non-stick elements have been found to kill pet birds and cause people to experience flu-like symptoms?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Let's talk about cookware! I'll start with this- I avoid non-stick like the plague. For everything. If it says "non-stick" I'm out. Even the newer non-toxic/safe non-stick pans are not something I recommend (green pan, caraway, xtrema) Unfortunately the marketing of these products is well done and many fall for the greenwashing.
Why I Avoid Non-Stick:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ Generally coated with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) which is a plastic polymer that starts to leach toxins when heated above 572 degrees Fahrenheit.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ Typically a coated aluminum pan. Aluminum is a neurotoxic metal that has been linked to Alzheimer's and ALS.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ Potential cancer links with Teflon fumes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ Coating is prone to chipping which leads to the ingestion of the plastic and potentially toxic elements in the coating as well as exposure to the metal underneath.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

My top switch recommendations? To put it simply, stainless steel, cast iron, carbon steel, or glass. I'll link my favorites on my Amazon Favorites page of my website and here in LTK.it! http://liketk.it/3dpQo liketkit @liketoknow.it LTKfamily LTKkids LTKhome ⠀⠀
