Want to know the number one thing I look for in a car seat?🥇 Well...besides the obvious safety ratings?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔥No flame retardants! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Flame retardants have been associated with many different cancers, lower IQ, behavioral issues, and reproductive/ hormonal damage. Additionally they do not break down, easily, so they stick around in the environment for years. They have also been found to bioaccumulate (build up) in humans systems over time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Kids are most vulnerable to flame retardants because they are still developing. They also mouth EVERYTHING so the chances of them ingesting these chemicals is much higher. Additionally, studies have been found to show that added flame retardants don't provide the level of effectiveness as some believed. DM me for some studies/references. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The NIH and NTP (National Toxicology Program) are both furthering their studies into the effects of flame retardants and trying to find safer alternatives. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We personally had the uppababy in henry (pictured right) and we were big fans! It snapped easily into our stroller, was easy enough to carry and was aesthetically pleasing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
