Setting up our nursery was one of the most exciting (but STRESSFUL) parts of preparing to be new parents. I wanted to make sure that everything was aesthetic but also safe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Kids and babies spend A LOT of time in their nursery/room which makes it important to choose items that will reduce their toxic load. Babies are growing and developing so quickly and many products contain harmful materials that can cause damage in this critical time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I wanted to make sure that the products in our nurse wouldn't off-gas harmful VOCs (volatile organic chemical) and/or other chemicals. Babies are sensitive and they will breathe all that yuckiness in. No thanks! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So, what did I focus on in the nursery? 🌿 Furniture that was green guard gold certified 🌿 Low- VOC paint 🌿 Natural fabrics ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We painted this room with @sherwinwilliams Harmony. Which is zero VOC and Greenguard Gold certified. WIN WIN! The coverage is wonderful and the best part is we could chose any paint color we wanted with this as the base. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For our glider we went with the Paxton Swivel in Twill White from @potterybarnkids. This glider is greenguard gold certified (duh), supppper comfortable and stylish to boot! We chose the Twill While fabic because it is composed of 100% all-natural cotton. I really wanted to avoid any synthetic fabrics in something we would be spending so much time in. Buh-bye polyester! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The bookshelves we chose are from @ikeausa which is surprisingly a really great option for safer products. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The lamp and bedside table are both from @target. These are not considered “non-toxic” but I try to live 80/20 and this table was just too good to pass up! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Did you know about the Greenguard Gold certification? What are some of your favorite products?!
