🌲🤩How I decorated my mantel this year…it was a labor of love and took a bit of trial and error. It does every year for me to get it just right!🤩🌲But my mantel is what I look at the most through the holiday season and if I get it right, it brings me a lot of joy. That sounds silly, but it’s the truth!🤪So here’s how I did it:
1. I hung my stockings first using flat stocking hooks that sit on top of the mantle. They’re low profile and the garland can drape over the top of them. Don’t forget stocking tags!
2. I used real touch Norfolk Pine Garland. I used one 8’ foot deluxe strand and four 6’ foot regular because this is just what I already had. You can’t get this look without layering multiple pieces of garland (which adds up unfortunately) but the deluxe is really full, so it will take less if you use that! Also this garland is amazing quality and will last for years! My mantel is rough so I use nails to hang my garland, but there are lots of command hook options that work well too!
3. If you want lights in your garland, this is the time to weave them through before you start adding anything else! I just wrapped warm white lights around the garland. Twinkling or fairy lights work well too!
4. I love mixing greenery so I added eucalyptus this year. I deconstructed my seeded eucalyptus garland and just stuck the picks right in to the Pine Garland. I used two strands of eucalyptus to fill in mine.
5. Next I added in berry picks. I used matte red, frosted red, and frosted gold! Mine are from Hobby Lobby.
6. I added a strand of vintage bells…these will never go out of style in my opinion! You could also add velvet ribbon!
7. I finished decorating the fireplace by adding flameless candles and candlesticks, throw pillows, and beautiful birch trees!
I loved adding in the pops of red this year and I’m just so happy with how it turned out! It was worth the effort it took to get here!😍
