When to wear a belt vs. When not to wear a belt! When picking a belt to buy: 1. Pick a neutral colour that matches the items you have in your wardrobe. 2. Match the buckle to your jewelry. 3. Pick a classic belt rather than a statement belt if you don’t wear belts that often. When wearing trousers: -I like to wear belts most of the time, and you can match the colour of your belt to the trousers, or highlight a colour in your outfit. When wearing jeans: -I like to add a belt to add detail to a simple outfit or to define your waist. If an out is too busy, maybe skip the belt. When wearing a skirt: -I like a belt to break up a monochromatic outfit or to cover an elastic waistband. I like belts with midi skirts and jackets to break up harsh lines between the two parts of the outfit. -I like a mini skirt with a jacket and a belt, less so without unless the mini skirt has belt loops and is meant to be worn with a belt. I wouldn’t wear a belt; -With drawstring pants. -With most dresses or those with already defined waistlines. -With short voluminous dresses. LTKstyletip LTKsummer LTKspring
