🌈 This is my little girl’s room. A large bookshelf is key and will never not be useful, plenty of baskets for ALL the baby dolls and stuffed animals and I love this little 🎀 rganizer. Takes advantage of wall space while also serving as some cute decor.

👋🏼 Buckle up, buttercup. Let’s talk belts!

✨Hanging: this is definitely the most popular storage solution. I love a good belt hanger. However, there is definitely a hierarchy here. I like to go with a solid wood option that allows you to hang belts from both sides AND doesn’t require you to unload all of them just to get to that one you need. This is usually a great for clients who don’t have the drawer or shelf space available

💁🏻‍♀️ Shelves: no drawer? no hanging space? No problem. Grab a bin or small basket, roll up each belt and neatly stack them up, or display them in rows.

🗄️ Drawers: pictured above! When I first organized this closet the belt collection was smaller and made more sense in a small woven basket on a shelf. As time has gone on, the collection has grown and the basket became a vortex of the unknown.

😞 It was difficult to see what options were available. Even harder to GET THEM. After playing some organizational tetris, to free up space, I used drawer dividers to create lanes.

💪🏼 Roll up those belts, stack them in their lane and 💥 you’re basically in your very own belt boutique. 🙏🏼

🌸 April is almost over which means only a few more days to dive deep on our bathroom focus!

▪️These drawer sets are one of my favorite storage solutions. I think I have one under almost every sink in the house. Not sure if that’s a point of pride or an area of concern. 🤔

▪️The one on the left is Elfa (currently 20-35% off @thecontainerstore). These are great at taking advantage of any available vertical space and can handle heavier items. I love to use them for hair tools, bulky backstock products or as mini medicine cabinets.

▪️The stackable drawers on the right are also amazing. They’re deeper than most other drawers out there and stack like a dream. 😴

Last but not least, filled the empty spaces with a few extra shoeboxes (never just for 👟 !) and multi purpose bins!

📦 2. May sound excessive, but small bins within large bins keep organization in tact. Without them it’s just clutter waiting to happen.

We’ve spent all month focused on YOUR belongings, it’s time to focus on that furry friend of yours. Don’t have a pet? Congrats! You get a free choice day. Look over the past month and see what tickles your organizational fancy.

Today we’re decluttering items that your pet or YOU no longer love, need or use.

Places I would check out!

- Toy collection: Is it overflowing? Are there items in there your furry pal NEVER chooses to play with/are falling apart or simply annoying af? Warning: much like children, it’s sometimes best to do this while your pet isn’t watching you. You don’t need that kind of guilt trip in your life.

- Clothing: Sweaters, booties, and bandanas - oh my! Again, is your pet overwhelmed with choices? Are some of those sweaters making you say, “woof!” ? Help them do a quick closet edit. We want them to strut in confidence.

- Collars/leashes: Again, remove any that aren’t “giving”. Maybe it’s even time to order some fresh replacements!
- Treats - again, are you overflowing? Are there things in there that are expired/stale or just “yuck”? Is there any food in there that your pet doesn’t even like?

🤍 I love getting rid of stuff. But clothing can be tough. Especially if it was expensive. However, the freedom you feel after finally getting rid of something that no longer brings you any joy is priceless. Take a breath. You got this.

💡 Remember: KEEP ONLY THE T-SHIRTS THAT YOU WEAR and LOVE. Do not keep the ones you USED to love. Don’t keep any that you don’t love putting on. Keep only what is needed, used and loved.

Sounds simple, but it’s really the only rule to follow with anything we bring into our home.

🚨 We often hold on to things because we feel guilty getting rid of them. In the end, all this does is make us feel bad every time we see it.

A: I do! They all serve a different purpose. A big barrel, small and this one that is supposed to give me “beach vibes”? Ha. If you need, use or love it. It stays.

💔 If it’s broken, never used or just doesn’t work how you WANT it to… bye bye.

💡 TIP: if you need a crimper for that occasional theme party — throw it in with halloween costume storage. That way it’s out of your way, but you know where to find it when you need it.

🌟 Feeling like completing some extra credit? I’m a bad test taker, so I’m always up for it. LOL.

👀 Okay. Take a look at that hair accessory collection. Make your piles and eliminate anything unnecessary. Then group items by type.

- Hair ties

☕️ Coffee Mugs! Day 25 of the #aullorganizedchallenge

Today we are just getting rid of the mugs that:

• we do not USE
• we do not LOVE

I can’t tell you how many homes I’ve been in where the cabinets can barely close because they’re STUFFED full of mugs. We love the mugs. We don’t love the cluttered cabinet. Take some time to give the ones you love room to shine.

If the mug isn’t used and/or loved — ✌🏻. If it’s in great condition, put it in a box and start a donation pile (you can add to the 📦 over the month). If it’s gross/broken - toss it. 🚮

Not a big mug collector? Focus on your cup situation (we’ll be working on water bottles later this month!).

💊 Medicine Cabinet! Day 24 of the #aullorganizedchallenge. Got 20 minutes? Let’s go! 🏃🏻‍♀️

1. Have a 🗑 nearby. You might want some baggies and a Sharpie, too!

2. Empty the entire cabinet/container. You want to see everything you have.

3. Make your categories:

▪️Cold/Flu
▪️Tummy Troubles
▪️Allergies
▪️Pain Relief
▪️Kid Meds
▪️First Aid/Band-Aids

4. 👀 at expirations. Toss loose pills, or grab a baggie to contain foil pill packs that no longer have a box. (This also saves on space.)

Grab a trash bag, box or basket!

📦 Gather anything in a basket that doesn’t belong. Paper, dishes, magazines, old mail, old notes, bags — clear your workspace!

🪴 Leave only what belongs.A cute photo frame, maybe a plant, a spot for your coffee and maybe a notepad. I think a clear/minimal workspace is ideal — but do what works for you!

👤Food storage containers are kinda like that one relative we avoid. Dealing with them can be so painful and awkward. They’re unavoidable and it’s impossible to do certain things without them. Also, let’s be honest — in certain situations they really help out in a pinch. 🤏

💡 OKAY. While I can’t help you with your relatives, I CAN offer a few solutions for your food storage woes.

☝🏻First. Invest in a glass set for leftovers kept at home. They don’t warp and stain — and allow you to clearly see inside. They will LAST and don’t hold some of those nasty chemicals that the plastic does (especially when it’s microwaved. Ick).

💰 I promise the $30-40 investment is worth every penny! My @pyrexhome set has been with me for over 13 years now and still going strong.

✨ If you MUST have disposables on hand (please reuse and ♻️) keep these in a separate bin or basket.

✨A lid organizer is everything! Comes in two sizes. pesky lids from rolling around everywhere and taking up more room than necessary.

Remove shoes that:

* Don’t FIT
* Don’t get WORN

For the shoes you don’t want, ask yourself this:

* Are they in good condition? DONATE!
* Are they falling apart? TRASH!

Today we are focusing on “under the sink”.

“Which sink?” You ask.

You pick!

- Under the kitchen sink
- Under the bathroom sink

We’re only taking 15 minutes to declutter this space.

Step 1: Take everything out! Everything.

Step 2: Ask yourself, “What do I actually use and NEED in this space?”

- Keep whatever is needed, used and loved

Step 3: Put it back together!

A few things that can help keep your space tidy + amplify your storage

- Drawer liners
- LAZY SUSANS are the belle of the ball in this world. Under the sink space can be awkward and tough to access. Lazy Susans allow you to take advantage of the surface area and easily access your stuff
- Bins to contain the chaos. I always recommend plastic containers that can easily be wiped down when the inevitable spill occurs.

📚 BOOKS! Day 19 of the #aullorganizedchallenge.

Promise. We’re not trying to get rid of ALL the books in your home. Mainly the ones that are taking up space, have already been read and aren’t going to be RE-READ — or dedicate this 15 minutes to decluttering your kid’s bookshelf.

📖 Maybe you fill a box with the books they’ve outgrown or remove the ones that are severely ripped/eaten/drooled upon.

INBOX! Day 18 of the #aullorganizedchallenge

There are two camps:

1. I keep my inbox tidy - there is a method to the madness
2. My inbox is anarchy. It is a vortex to the unknown.

Or perhaps there’s a middle ground. Impossible to say.

A few tips to keep that inbox tidy:

1. Say it with me: UNSUBSCRIBE. It’s so liberating. It’s easy. It takes 2 seconds and truly makes a difference.
2. BLOCK your spam instead of deleting it.
3. Use FOLDERS to create categories - go the extra mile and color code those cuties. (Folders serve as the “bins and baskets” in the digital world).
4. Do you need to delete A LOT of emails? Spam/Promos etc?
1. Are you a gmail user? This won’t work on a mobile - but if you hop on a desktop computer you can start selecting a few emails and then a box will come up at the top asking you if you want to delete ALL of the emails in your Spam/Promo (not just the current page/ALL of them - even 1,000s) . Select that and then immediately throw the entire thing in the trash at once.

Just like everything in this challenge, we are only giving this task 15 min. You are making a DENT and maybe just learning how to maintain order in the digital world. Got more tips? Please tell us what works for you! I’ll be sharing them throughout the day. Stay tuned.

🚨 REMINDER: we’re only removing toys that are broken or not getting playtime. This is not a full blown space makeover/time consuming task.

‼️ ONE MORE REMINDER: Do not. I repeat DO NOT do this when your children are around. They will instantly turn into little greedy gremlins who insist that the old happy meal toy is actually a precious family heirloom and you’re a monster for even CONSIDERING getting rid of it.

- Check with your kids’ daycare teachers, elementary school, church or dump on your friend with younger kids’ front porch ;)

I don’t know about you, but linens are hardly top of mind when it comes to organizing and decluttering — which means - we often don’t realize how much we have and aren’t using.

1. Gather the towels!

2. Quickly take out anything ripped, stained, or that no one in the family avoids like the plague.

3. Only put back the towels that are being regularly used and loved.

4. Storing on a shelf? - fold them! In a basket? I recommend rolling them. Need ideas? Highly recommend @thefoldinglady for some mesmerizing folding techniques.

🚨 PLEASE DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY 🚨

Unless they are severely damaged or have a high level of “ick” there are numerous animal shelters who would happily accept your used towels. Veterinary offices, pet stores, doggie daycares and boarding facilities are also a great place to donate. Those precious pups and kitties would much rather cuddle on your old linens than a bare cage or concrete floor. 🐶 🐱

A simple google search with your cities name + animal shelter will tell you where you can drop those linens off! 💕

Try this to slowly delete photos you no longer need.

DELETE THE DAY

1. Go to your photos app
2. Tap “Search”
3. Type in today’s date
4. Go through everything in your phone from today’s date and only that day. Delete any photos you don’t want or need.
5. Do this every day to slowly thin out your photos. Should take you 2 min or less! Do it while you’re waiting in line, while you’re in carpool, take two minutes off instagram. Little tiny habits build up to BIG things. :)

🏠 Physical photos in your home.

It’s 2024. We don’t have quite the collection of physical photos we used to. However, if you’re like me — mine are kind of a hodgepodge mess. Check out today’s favorite products to get ideas on how your photos are best stored. I’ll be going through a large pile of the kids’ baby photos (that haven’t quite made it to their album just yet… only 6 years late).

📞 Do you remember when we all had minimalist phones? We made calls. We answered calls. We been listened to voicemails.

📱 Today our phones do almost everything. So let’s be sure it’s working FOR you and not AGAINST you.

⏰ Take time to declutter your apps, turn off notifications and even clean up your photos!

1.Delete every single app that you haven’t used in the past 2 months.

Don’t think too hard.

If you really need it - you can always re-download!

NOTIFICATIONS

2. Go to your settings and turn off notifications you don’t need.

* do you really need to instantly know when someone “likes” your instagram photo or send you a DM?

* Do you really need to know when EVERY email arrives in your inbox?

Your phone works for you. Don’t let it boss you around! Show that thing who’s boss.

…. it’s you.

3. Make your Home Screen MINIMAL. Only the essentials.

* Are you spending too much time on one app in particular? Move it only a separate page, or even inside a separate folder.
* Not keeping something in plain sight can increase your productivity elsewhere.

🔝 Start at the top of your pantry and work your way down.

Remove anything that is

• expired
• not getting eaten
• that gives you the heebie-jeebies

👀 Take a look at the items you don’t want:

• Good and unopened? donate! 📦
• Are they expired and gross? 🗑️

🙌🏼That’s it! That’s the decluttering challenge for today.

💪🏼 However….if you’re really feeling motivated and want to organize here’s how I start every project:

1. Empty the entire thing
2. Categories (pasta/chips/sauces/cereals/bars/treats etc)
3. Put it back together!

• use containers you have around the house to corral items, or check out today’s stories and product post for a few fab products/inspiration!

💧 Water Bottles! Day 26 of the #aullorganizedchallenge

Today we are just getting rid of the water bottles that:

A: WE DO NOT USE

B: WE DO NOT LOVE

✌🏻 If the water bottle isn’t used and/or loved — bye. If it’s in great condition, put it in a box and start a donation pile (you can add to the box over the month). If it’s gross/broken - toss it.

🫣I can’t tell you how many homes I’ve been in where the cabinets can barely close because they’re STUFFED full of water bottles. We love the water bottles. We don’t love the cluttered cabinets and drawers. Take some time to give the ones you love room to shine.

🥤Not a big water bottle collector? Focus on your cup, wine glass or revisit the coffee mug situation.

1. Have a trash can and/or donation box nearby.

2. Go take a little peek at those pots and pans…

3. Questions to ask yourself!

• What gets used?
• What's broken?
• How many duplicates are you keeping?
• Do you really need 3 skillets? 4 huge pots?
• Keep your favorites and donate the rest.

⭐️Remember! Your kitchen is prime real estate. Use it for what gets USED regularly.

4. Pots and pans you want, but aren't used regularly can be placed up high on a shelf or cabinet, or even storage. Once or twice a year when you need that giant chili pot to feed the neighborhood, you know where to find it. 😉

👜 Purse! Day 10of the #aullorganizedchallenge

1. Grab your purse and dump the whole thing out. 💥

2. Separate everything into categories. 🗂

3. If you have small items to contain (makeup, masks, toiletries, mints, kid snacks, etc.) think about containing them into smaller pouches. Use what you have! Plastic baggies work in a pinch. 👛

4. Put back only what is USED and necessary. Wallet. Keys. Sunglasses. Lip Balm. 🕶

5. These pouches make switching purses a breeze. Just grab the ones you need! ✨

6. Throw away the trash, put back items you no longer need and pat yourself on the back. You did it! 🙌🏼

🤓Extra Credit! Do the same with your work bag. 👩🏼‍🏫

1. Have a trash can and/or donation box nearby.

2. Empty the ENTIRE utensil drawer.

3. Categories!

• What gets used?
• What's broken?
• How many duplicates are you keeping?
• Do you really need 3 whisks? 4 peelers?
• Keep your favorites and donate the rest.

⭐️Remember! This drawer is prime real estate. Use it for utensils used regularly.

4. Utensils you want, but aren't used regularly can be placed in a separate container. I keep mine in a medium sized plastic bin. Put it in your pantry, or in a cabinet.

🥔 Twice a year when you need that potato ricer, you know where to find it. 😉
