Happy December! I’m so excited to start our advent tradition because this year, my eldest (3.5) is able to understand more of what Christmas is all about. It’s so fun! Our advent calendar is from @gathre, and instead of filling the pocket with gifts, we fill them with our wooden characters from the Nativity scene. We read parts of the Christmas story using our Bibles (we love starting out with reading from My First Bible and Prayers from @cottagedoorpress) and we also use the free download pdf advent guide from @faithgateway for the children’s @SallyLloydJones The Jesus Storybook Bible @jesus_storybook_bible. (I’ll link in my stories). You also see some folded paper in the pockets because those reveal its a book day! Each Saturday and Sunday, the kids get to unwrap a new book - we choose books like Bluey Christmas, The Year of the Perfect Christmas Tree, Toot& Puddle. I’ll try to post about book day on my stories to show what books we choose this year.
