It’s definitely not for kids in preschool but is a good size for those entering grade school+ as it will fit a lunchbox, snack, water bottle, full sized folder and way way more if need be. Inside of backpack is water proof as well. You can change the patches and add more or swap out patches as the kids grow . They have all sorts of patches and color letters, etc. they do sell a smaller size backpack too for younger, pre school aged kids. You can’t use other patches with Velcro either.
