Amelia took a lot of pressure off publishers when she knocked down one of our bookshelves bc when I posted the dismal stats on diversity in children’s books last july, we only had ONE book by an Asian American writer/illustrator and only a short list of books to look for (ok also pressure off me bc I now have way less space to fill up 🙃). Still, we’ve seen some amazing books released by AAPI writers / artists or featuring asian american characters in this past year alone, and if they could one day overflow past a third shelf, well, I would cry happy tears for my childhood self. 🥲🥲 http://liketk.it/3jGiW liketkit @liketoknow.it
