100. Stillwater Girls by Minka Kent :: 3.75/5⭐️ Wren, Sage, and Evie live with their mother in the woods in a cabin with an outhouse and no electricity. One day Evie gets sick, so she and mama go out to seek medical attention with the promise that they will be back. It’s been 73 days and there is still no sign of Mama or Evie, and Wren and Sage are running dangerously low on supplies and food. One day a strange man knocks on their door looking for mama and tells the girls he’s going to take them with him to safety. They don’t believe him, so they escape in the middle of the night to the nearest house, which is hours away on foot. What they find is almost more than the girls can handle. LOVED the story line, but I feel like it was wrapped up extremely quickly, and the ending kind of came out of nowhere. I kept trying to guess how the author was going to marry the two storylines together, and I do love how she did it, I just wish there was more.
