Games aimed for emergent gamers have really stepped up and there are so many good ones. We recently played Adventure Land and couldn’t recommend it enough. The gameplay is straightforward and easy to understand. On each turn you flip two cards to fill the grid with rewards, and then take two movement actions collecting rewards. The catch - you can only move down and across the grid, there is no going back. So you have to decide if you want to rush ahead and potentially miss things or hang back.
