I went into this project with the idea I’d be working with pavers that cost $1.78 each, but then I saw these more expensive ones at Home Depot for $20 a piece and went for it — the point is, the look is similar, so it can be done on a budget. Work with what you got. Glad that rubber flooring is gone, and while yes we did buy new furniture, the paver transformation was certainly the most impactful change up here.

Dave loved coming out on this deck when we first bought our condo, before they erected a building and blocked it off. Whether he was grilling, people watching, or enjoying the view of the water — it was, and has always been the simplest things that make him happy (as you’ll see his reaction to a clean grill and a mini grill flashlight I added). After we lost the “battle” with the developers next door and this building went up, this deck became a neglected area for unwanted see clutter so I wanted to find a way to make this area enjoyable for him again. 🥹🤍
