Those little, immature kidneys can’t handle water alone. It leads to an imbalance of sodium (what many refer to as “water intoxication”). Also, babies’ tummies are small and we don’t want them to be filled with something that has no nutrients. They need those nutrients for proper growth and development. So, avoid giving your baby water until they’re 6 months old! They get all the hydration they need from breast milk or formula alone.

OBSESS!"
Look at your baby. Feel their chest, back, and tummy. If they feel flushed or sweaty, remove a layer. If they feels cold, add a layer under the swaddle or sleep sack.
(Remember: no hats, mittens, or loose blankets).
Please don't obsess about the thermostat. Trust how you feel in what you're wearing and your ability to assess your little one. I promise, it really is that easy!

I thought of one thing to add: Do anything you can to prepare for that morning the night before. Pack the diaper bag, get your lunch together, lay out your clothes, etc. Those small gifts to yourself will make a big difference!
