Ready to spice up your kitchen? ✨ While there is a time and a place for a white kitchen, here are a few ideas of how to spice up the heart of the home.

DESIGN TIP
2-3 tips for making your kitchen unique
-Add texture with wood accents like wood floating shelves, a patterned rug runner or marble hardware to elevate the space.
-Have fun with lighting. A pendant that looks chic while also providing light over an island is one of my go-tos while smaller scale lamps in the corner of your countertop will create a lovely glow in the evening.
-Go for a mix and match look by adding vintage or antique accents. A freestanding island or a mix of barstools with a simillar style can create a cozy and inviting place to gather.
-Get out of the box with paint. If onsideriing a rich color for all of your cabinets is too much, try incorpoating the accent color on your island, pantry door or storge pieces to ground the space.

No boring patio or backyard spaces here! Outdoor areas should be an extension of your home, so incorporating comfortable and functional elements to make them the go-to space is a must. Here are my must haves for any patio.

-Bistro sets are perfect for a small patio, they make the perfect spot for morning coffee or after dinner drink. Bonus if you add one in a pop of color or fun pattern.

-An umbrella is not only functional when it comes to providing shade, but they can be a great way to add pattern too. From scalloped edges to bold stripes, I love making a statement with a bold umbrella.

- Don't forget the outdoor pillows. Brighten up your neutral outdoor furniture with a mix of colorful throw pillows like florals, stripes and textural solids.

For this project, we selected a chinoiserie pattern from WallSnobs in a spray-and-stick format, allowing for easy removal when it's time for a future update. The formal living room felt drab, and the chapter wanted a brighter and more sophisticated look.

With picture molding added seven years ago, we decided that brightening the paint color to Oyster White from Sherwin Williams and incorporating custom wallpaper would perfectly refresh the space and draw the eye in from the foyer.

When I am designing a home away from home for AOII, spaces to gather together are always in mind. Scroll for a few tips and tricks on designing for large spaces with lots of seating.

DESIGN TIP
◽️ You'll want to create a space that is open and inviting, with plenty of room for guests to move around and interact with one another.

◽️ Think about how you can arrange the furniture in a way that encourages conversation and interaction, rather than creating barriers or bottlenecks.

◽️ A good way to do this is to arrange seating in a circle or semi-circle around a focal point, such as a fireplace or a large piece of artwork.

The kitchen is one of the rooms that you will spend the most time in your home. Why not make it a space you love?

Here are my top three tips to make your kitchen beautiful and functional:
◻️ Soft close cabinet doors & drawers. We have soft close on all drawers and cabinet doors and added them after we updated our kitchen. While this isn’t a must, it is a great detail to include for that custom kitchen feel.
◻️Put everything in its place. Use drawer organizers to create an organized space for your kitchen utensils. Their individual compartments will make them more accessible too.
◻️Think outside of your cabinets. Reduce clutter by using trays to designate items for morning coffee or regularly used spices by the stove top. You can style them with your favorite trinkets or framed photos for a more curated look.
