I’m always scandalized by makeup tutorials saying to apply concealer in triangles under the eye. The doe foot applicator ends up glopping too much product on the face even when it’s dotted on.

I use a $4 lip brush from the drug store; now amazon sells two for $5.

I love the Givenchy Prisme Libre concealer for under the eye and for spots - ample coverage but still looks natural. Especially using this technique

How do you relate your home fragrance to your personal scent? I tend to gravitate to light notes like citrus , so they work in harmony.

Except when I go off script toward the sweet, heady realm of Love Don’t Be Shy by Kilian. I do love to think of the way the environment relates to the personal even when they’re not in synch.

Truth is that I love the Ocean Mist room diffuser too much to switch it up. But Bamboo used to be my favorite, and Nest’s Wellness scents might be what’s next for me.

What’s the difference in royal vs. celeb style when it comes to bracelets? Rather than just name-check the brands or name the styles, let’s examine the reasons they pick what they wear.

Both camps need to communicate who they are and what they represent. But celebs are more likely to have sponsorships with brands, so that can affect their choices. When a celeb’s own style affects the campaign, I am impressed.

Celebs also need to be more accessible, and royals are the ruling class. They have different relationships with their fans, and we see that in the jewelry they pick – and the stories they tell.

What’s your take on moissanite? Fake diamond or something you like for its own properties? Any questions about moissanites?

The prices are really approachable, especially considering moissanites tend to be set in silver, which is far less costly than gold or platinum.

They’re a great way to try a style before committing to diamonds, and they’re also great for pieces that you wouldn’t want to flaunt in diamonds. I like being able to say that my diamonds are moissanite and more of a fun look than a serious spend.

Prices for lab diamonds are approximate because diamonds vary in cut, color, and clarity. I found prices with 14k gold settings. The moissanite prices are from Etsy.

Here’s how I start my necklace layering: with one grouping.

I create a group of necklaces in a similar length, usually 16” or 40cm.

I prefer an odd number of pieces to even.

I make sure to highlight a focal point or the main piece, so the other necklaces don’t outshine it. If something unexpected turns into the focal point, I check if it’s actually better; is it clear there’s one focal point?

To keep your gold-plated pieces lasting longer, avoid
1. oil, sweat, lotion, perfume
2. showering, swimming, sleeping, or working out in your jewelry

My favorite jewelry pieces from Etsy. I have fallen in love with moissanite. It’s milkier than diamonds, and it has a rainbow throw. It doesn’t look like a dim or a fake diamond. It’s doing its own rainbow dance.

It’s not old money to wear diamond-looking jewelry during the day, but it looks right to me - maybe it’s because my clothes tend to be more sober and serious.

These pieces make great gifts, and it’s not a bad idea to buy them for yourself first to make sure they’re suitable for your loved ones.

An at-home jewelry spa is so satisfying.

Soak your jewelry in warm water with a pump of dish soap for five minutes.

Remove any stubborn dirt with a makeup brush or a gentle toothbrush.

Rinse in clean water; I like to use a separate bowl of clean water and whirl the jewels there to avoid anything falling into the sink.

Use a microfiber cloth to dry the jewelry.
