I don’t typically go all out with holiday decor in the kitchen, but I love adding a few simple touches for an understated and classic look. Here are 10 easy ideas:

✨ Add a small wreath to the backs of chairs or stools.
✨ Place evergreen stems in a vase and tie a ribbon around it for a festive touch.
✨ Light a Christmas-scented candle—I’m obsessed with this woodwick option from M&Sense on Amazon. It smells amazing!
✨ Create a glass dome winter scene (check out yesterday’s reel for details).
✨ Add greenery and ribbon to your cutting boards.
✨ Display a few small glass Christmas trees by the sink or on a windowsill.
✨ Add festive mugs, a jar of candy canes, or seasonal syrups to your coffee station.
✨ Swap out regular dish towels for ones with subtle holiday patterns or colors.
✨ Add a wreath to your range hood.
✨ Hang or prop up framed winter scenes or Christmas art on your countertops.

Let’s Trim the Christmas Tree 🎄

This year for our Christmas tree I chose a cozy earth-tone color palette with warm blues, browns, burgundies, creams, and a touch of gold for sparkle. ✨ Wood and gold beaded garlands create a beautiful base, while satin and velvet ribbons tied to a few branches add softness and depth. Burgundy pops come from sprigs of artificial fall flowers, and glass icicle ornaments and baubles reflect light, adding a magical glow.

The final touch that we will add are some personal ornaments from past travels and favorite memories to make the tree feel truly special. I love to collect ornaments from all the places we go then we get to relive the memories decorating the tree each year.

✨ Making Our Christmas Tree Even More Magical ✨

After most of the lights on our 9’ tree went out, I needed to add new ones—and I wanted that beautiful twinkle effect! ✨ These string lights come with 8 different settings that include fading, twinkling, and a steady glow (though some modes are a bit intense—think flashing strobe lights!). They come in various colors, but I went with classic white lights for our main tree for that cozy, warm look 🤍

For our 9’ tree, I used 4 boxes of lights and could’ve used just a little bit more on top, but with our star lit on top, it should balance out! 🎄⭐️
