Get the look! The key to pulling off a layered, “collected” vibe is to mix size and textures of the items you’re placing. Try to resist giving each piece its own spotlight and think about the overall silhouette of the space you want to fill and how you can make a cluster of items give that desired silhouette a bit of dimension. In this house, we had a huge blank wall and we anchored it with this extra large, RH French Contemporary Sideboard. We then needed height and dimension on the wall. Sticking with black, natural wood and blue accessories, we created some height with the large black mirror and a silhouette that trickles out to the right, leading the eye down the length of the big 100” furniture piece. We love styling kitchens! This place only needed a few more natural/organic touches to highlight its modern, sleek aesthetic. We added a couple wood cutting boards, some beautiful cooking oils, a linen dish towel and a big bowl of lemons. It’s still very uncluttered and minimalistic, but the natural elements really make the hard, shiny surfaces sing. 🎤
