This one was so fun that I was asked by my kids to make 6 more hearts after this one! Good thing it’s pretty easy to cut out a heart on a piece of cardboard and add some packaging tape with cellophane pieces. Totally mess-free which I love and they look so beautiful in the window, double love! 💕

Honestly, this one is great any time of year and I’m sure we will be repeating.

Look, sometimes I like to DIY things and other times I like to simplify my life with an activity that’s ready to go! Valentine’s Day is not my favorite holiday, but one of the things I do love about it is it encourages so many opportunities for writing. This Mondo Llama kit is so cute and fun! It got my reluctant writer to at least attempt some practice, plus all the stickers are great fine motor practice.

All the seasonal stuff at Target seems to fly off the shelves, so if this is something your kid would love, I would suggest grabbing it before it sells out.

This Valentine’s mail number match turned into so much more. My son didn’t just stop at the activity—he built an entire town with blocks, added more cars, and extended the play for hours.

I mean I wouldn’t have believed you either, I was pretty surprised just how entertaining these Stomp Rockets were for my kids!

My kids have played with these stomp rockets for hours over the past couple days. They have used them outdoors and indoors (in our stairwell). Only 2 rockets so far have been stuck in the tree and the roof 🤪. Luckily, this set comes with 12 rockets (4 of which glow in the dark).

This 3-in-1 game is perfect to get kids moving when you are stuck inside! Plus, it works on self-regulation which toddlers need so much practice with. Here’s what that is and how this game helps with that…

Self-regulation is basically our ability to control our thoughts, impulses, emotions, and actions. This game has 3 games that help them to do that.
1. Red light green light, they have to control starting and stopping plus listening to directions
2. Sneaky Steps they have to control the speed of their body, going very slow is tricky for kids
3. Spotlight Boogie they have to listen and move like the game says and it will tell if they aren’t doing the correct movement

Since the game detects their movements they are prompted when they don’t follow the rules, making it very hard to “cheat” and holds them accountable.

I love this 3-drawer bin to store sensory trays. It makes rotating them way easier. I always try to find things that don’t dry out so they can just be left on the shelf and my kids can have more choice and control over their playtime.

Special shoutout to some small shops included: Lytl Store for the silicone rainbow and stacking cups (they made great dens for the penguins) and The Sensory Mess for the fun filler that I use for way more than the “Celebration” that it is made for.

Ok, this light box made this writing activity 1,000 times better and gave way more of a New Year’s feel!

It has been important for me to work in handwriting practice, especially now that my daughter is in kindergarten and struggles with that skill. This makes it fun and low pressure. Definitely one to try!

Fizzy play is my go to way to celebrate the New Year with kids. It’s so simple just vinegar and baking soda (and a little extra glitter if you are feeling fancy) and the fizzy reaction is just so exciting and satisfying to watch.

Using real tools with preschool aged kids is like magic so busting out the kitchen scale really caught his interest for this STEM activity of measuring gifts. I focused more on recognizing and writing numbers than the actual unit of measurement, but you could do that for older kids.
