Things to consider when building: Part 3! •The fireplace was one of the hardest things for me to design. Once I saw Roman clay from @portolapaints I knew it was what we should do. I was obsessed at first glance and it’s even better than I could have imagined for far less than the cost of stone or tile or even shiplap. •Along with the massive fireplace wall I knew I wanted built ins on either side. The ample storage and soft close features are so amazing. •our 4” floating shelves were built from our custom cabinet maker. They make the space feel open and airy rather than weighed down. Decorating all the shelves is a challenge, but I love them. 😅 •White oak beams on the ceiling are literally a show stopper. This whole room is so incredible. The box beams were made by the same people who did our stair railing and it’s incredible. The original plan was for pine here and the white oak is infinitely better. It makes such a statement! •We LOVE our electric fireplace. It can be used all year long to make a pretty statement without having heat. But, if you need it to have heat you can do that too at the switch if a button. What is your favorite feature? Follow along @threefoldchic @ourthreefoldhome to see more in our building series.
