✨✨✨ When arranging a charcuterie board, look at it like you’re styling your home. Think: contrasting colors, textures, shapes and tastes. Well, we don’t taste our home decor, but you know what I mean. ▪️I start by placing my cheeses on a wood board. If you don’t have a board yet, you can use a wood cutting board or other large, flat plate. It’s best to keep it neutral. Depending how many people I’m serving, I try to have 3-4. Always use at least 1 soft, creamy cheese like a Brie or triple creme. Alternatively, you also want to have a firm cheese like a Manchego or Gouda. ▪️Layer in the meats around the cheese. You can loosely fold the prosciutto, make a salami rose, or simply lay it next to the cheese. ▪️Place the fruits and veggies. This is the part where you really want to look at the color, texture and shape. Mixing grapes and berries is always aesthetically pleasing. ▪️Layer in your honeycomb, jams, dried fruits and place your crackers. Fill in gaps with a variety of nuts. ▪️Bonus points if you have a sprig of fresh rosemary or basil. Or even some edible flowers. Do not use traditional flowers as they have preservatives and are not food safe. ✨✨✨ I’d love to see your charcuterie boards!
