Changed up our theme this year after falling in love with the Studio McGee garland that has a hint of blue from the eucalyptus. I will probably add a touch of red with the kids stockings in December but for now we are enjoying the blue and gold!

Hard to get a good shot but here is a little garland comparison 🌲

Left: My Texas House- it’s really soft and will be great for layering.

Middle: Norfolk- the classic! Doesn’t show well in the photo but a deeper green also great for a layering base or in its own.

Right: Hearth & Hand- I like this one to use on top since it’s lighter green and has berries.

This McGee & Co gold garland arrived today and is just beautiful in person! I laid it on top of a Norfolk garland strand for contrast, I should have gotten more strands of it! 🌲

Garland hanging tip 🌲

If you are hanging garland, especially multiple strands, put these up 24 hours before you put weight on them.

This is the Flocked 9ft Kenwood Fraser Fir! Even though I was going to Home Depot on a hunt for the Grand Duchess, I fell in love with this one instead for our main tree!

The Viral Home Depot Tree is in store!

But I hope I didn’t make the wrong decision, the flocked Kenwood Fraser came home with me! I have been waiting for the restock but fell in love with the flocked and couldn’t get both! 🫣

And they had the nutcrackers in store that are great to paint gold! There is a Walmart version that is $45 these are $59 but 6” taller. I will add links when it shows right now they don’t show online.

The weather may not feel like it, but Fall has officially arrived! Time to turn down the ac and get the pumpkins out!

For early Fall, I have started with lighter neutral tones and will add deeper colors as we head further into the season. It gives an excuse to change it up over the next two months and carry you all the way through Thanksgiving. If you think about it, Fall decor gets more display time than Christmas even! Which is a great explanation for the abundance of Fall decor collected over the years!

In this space, autumn leaves, acorns and stems fill the table to add warmth to the room. I love a beautiful tablescape and since we use the breakfast room 99 percent of the time anyway, Fall found its way in here as well!

- the secret to a Green Garden all year long -

This idea started out as just as accent but between not having a green thumb and a couple of freezes that wiped out most of the landscaping, it has created a beautiful backdrop to our outdoor space.

Each box has 12 tiles, which snap together and can be easily cut with scissors to size. Simply attach to the fence with a staple gun. I put the first panels up 2 years ago and they have survived the elements well!

I’m still not giving up on the garden but at least we have greenery all year long no matter the crazy weather!
