Yesterday, at church, our pastor preached a sermon on Matthew 13:22, “And the one sown with seed among the thorns, this is the one who hears the word, and the anxiety of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.“

It reminded me of my song “Watering the Weeds”, but I didn’t say anything. But as soon as we got home, Bear took out his pots and pans and said “mama you sing! Daddy, you play guitar!” 🥹 So, I took that as a sign to play this song, and maybe someone needs to hear it. 🤍

It was the second song that Dave and I ever wrote- we weren’t even dating, and hardly knew each other at all- but it somehow paints the perfect image of exactly what our lives would turn into- even down to bringing our sweet boy into the world. 🥹
