Whether it is prom or your wedding day, rain can definitely cause added stress about getting from place to place and keeping dry. Don’t panic—I’ve got you covered (literally). Here are tips to keep your formal wear dry and picture-perfect even if the skies open up: • Clear umbrella = fashion + function • Bring a towel, clear shower curtain, or sheet to protect your hem- put it on the ground where you are going to stand to prevent your gown absorbing the moisture. • Rock slip-on shoes first to get where you’re going, heels later • A little dry shampoo on the hem goes a long way- spray the inside (lay gown down, fold hem up, protect rest of dress with towel while spraying, allow to dry, then flip and repeat on other side) • Bring a dress holder (aka mom or bestie) • Get dropped off under a covered area • Clear poncho for walking around • Choose covered spots for photos—porches, gazebos, awnings…unless you dare to brave the rain that can bring great photo results to if that’s what you’re after!)
