I love to work on one room at a time when renovating in my own house because it all seems so manageable, the timeline is short, and at the end there is a pretty end product. Although I know the renovating we are doing now is going to make a huge impact in the overall house, this weekend I had a very big feeling of overwhelm. There is still so much to do before we can even get to painting, which is a huge project in itself and still a far cry from finished space. Once that is done, there are so many more spaces that need to be tackled. I took a minute, took some deep breaths and then just got up and got at it again. I once spoke with a fellow runner who had run an 80km ultra marathon and I asked him how on earth he was able to do that. He said, you just put one foot in front of the other, just like for any other race. I think of that often. Slow and steady, thats how you finish the marathon. Have you ever lived through a renovation? Any words of advice, how do you get through it? Showing a new angle for my one finished room in my house, my refuge!
