Today is National WearRedDay, all a part of the American Heart Association's American Heart Month. The idea behind wearing red on this day is to help raise awareness of the No. 1 killer of women, cardiovascular disease, so I think it’s a great cause to support. Of course, February is also the month of Valentine's Day, where we celebrate our "romantic" hearts, and also all things red. So I thought I'd put some tips together on how to wear red, especially if you're a little reluctant to wear this bold color! Start Small: If you're hesitant about wearing bold red, start with accessories like a red scarf, handbag, or shoes. Adding just these small "pops of color" will make it seem less overwhelming. Choose the Right Shade: Red comes in many tones, as we typically refer to them as cooler or warmer undertones. If your skin tone is cooler, consider cherry or crimson, while warmer undertones look great in brick or tomato reds. Pair with Neutrals: You can balance red with neutral colors like black, navy, white, or beige to tone down its boldness. Try Prints: Opt for clothing with red as part of a pattern (like florals or stripes) to soften its impact. Layer Strategically: Wear a red piece under a blazer, cardigan, or jacket to show just a pop of color. Do you wear red? Why or why not? LTKOver40 LTKSeasonal LTKStyleTip
