✨My first rule is everything always has to have a place! If we bring it into our home there has to be a “spot” for it. For example, the keys go in a key bowl or a hook, bags/backpacks/diaper bags have a place, toys have a bin etc.
✨The first rule is easily followed if you can adapt the less is more concept. If it doesn’t serve a purpose in your home it’s probably time to get rid of it 🤷🏼♀️ every few months I purge out things that nobody really uses, and they’re kind of just there.
✨My next tip is the bin/basket storage hack. It’s a great way to organize and keep things you don’t want out and laying around, tucked away. We use bins and baskets in our play room, son’s room and closets. This makes my life easier when my son is looking for a specific toy, because I know exactly which baskets it’s in, “oh that’s in the Toy Story basket, or the dinosaur bin!”
✨My final tip is something that works for me in keeping my house more minimalist: every time I bring something in, something goes out. For example, if I buy a new lamp, I sell or donate an old one. This not only helps on clutter, but also makes home decor much more affordable! Since it prevents me from buying things I don’t actually need, it saves money and space, so win win in my book!
