Meeting Baby Sister! Tips for capturing a video of siblings meeting baby for the first time below! ⤵️ It was so sweet to see our 6-year-old son, Caleb, meet his baby sister, Arabella, for the first time! He was so excited, and his first reactions when meeting Arabella were so precious! We’re so happy we got this memory on camera!

If you’re expecting a baby and want to capture your kids meeting each other for the first time, here are some tips based on what we did. We wanted to use a tripod so we could set up the camera, get it recording, then just enjoy and be fully present in the moment!

• Pack a tripod in your hospital bag.

• When your kid or kids arrive at the hospital but before they come in the room, set up the tripod and phone with a view of the mom and baby.

• Just before your kid or kids enter the hospital room, start the video on your phone and leave it recording. Don’t start recording too early because sometimes phone cameras will stop recording after 5 minutes or randomly, especially if you are low on storage space.

• We didn’t do this, but to ensure the camera doesn’t get blocked by visitors, it may be best to have your kid or kids enter first and the have other visitors enter after the kids have seen their mom and the baby.

• Turn the camera off after a little bit and once you videoed your kid or kids meeting the baby.

• If you want to, you can also get some clips when other cute things are happening as the visit continues. My husband videoed the other clips of big brother and baby sister with me.

It’s wonderful to have memories like these on video, but please remember life happens and sometimes you may not end up getting a video or one you want to keep. The most important thing is to enjoy the moment as it happens. We nearly didn’t get this video as some of the video got accidentally blocked by family standing unknowingly in front of the part of the tripod. It’s lovely it worked out, though! We love some of the video clips we ended up getting!

Topponcino are great for a safe place to put a baby while in view (while doing laundry, dishes, cooking, working, etc.), for siblings and visitors to hold the baby on, and for the baby to lay on while watching a mobile or playing with a toy.

They are a great size for most modern games.

Some older games that are longer don’t fit in, but most games are now made to fold in a way that fits these storage containers.

Our baby girl loves her pink fluffy blanket and her stroller! We loved the bassinet attachment for the stroller for the first few months and then transitioned to the regular stroller seat attachment!

We used the same stroller with our first baby and now we’re using it with our second baby.

Big brother getting to hold baby sister in the hospital! Topponcinos are so great for older siblings to help hold their new baby sibling! Our Topponcino worked great for Caleb to hold his sister for the first time and holding her at home after!

Topponcinos are also good for any visitors as it’s less startling for the baby to be transferred when on a Topponcino.

This Topponcino is actually one we had from our first baby but I linked the organic cotton Topponcino we ended up getting for our second baby so we had additional Topponcinos! They get used so much in the first few months especially from holding the baby to placing the baby on the Topponcino.
