If you’re debating whether or not to do a newborn hospital photoshoot, I definitely recommend it if it’s offered. You can check with the hospital ahead of time and see if they have a photographer or service that takes photos when you’re in the hospital after having a baby. The photography service that takes photos at our hospital in San Diego typically takes the photos on the first full day after a vaginal birth and two days after a c-section. Also, some photographers will come into the hospital to take photos, but you would have to book it ahead of time, and then let them know when you’ve had your baby.

I loved having a matching mommy robe and baby swaddle that I bought ahead of time (I also linked the maternity nightgown I wore under the robe). I also got our 6 year old son a best bro t-shirt. Tom packed a shirt he had and liked in the hospital bag.

In addition, I’m so glad I brought so many swaddles, bows, and hats in our hospital bag for the newborn hospital photoshoot! I thought I had really overpacked but they all got used, and I love how they look in the photos! Plus, they’ve been used since we’ve been home. Swaddles can be used for swaddling, blankets, nursing covers, and more as well.

We got lucky that the photographer we were given took tons of photos with all the different hats/bows, swaddles/blankets, and props! This wouldn’t always be the case during a professional photoshoot because they often have a limited amount of time and photos they take. Even if you only get a few photos, I think it’s worth it to have some special photos of your baby.

These drawer organizers are great for organizing sunglasses and more! The top pair of black sunglssses are my favorite inexpensive UV400 polarized sunglasses! They are lightweight and I have them in multiple colors.

I’ve had them for years and have bought multiple pairs of them. My son likes the kids sunglasses at the bottom.

These Frida Mom Postpartum Pads have been a postpartum essential, especially during the first few weeks home after a vaginal birth!

I love how they cover so well. The catch-all pads work great with the Frida Mom boy shorts and also work with regular underwear.

I also linked more postpartum essentials as well as the regular pads I switch to as the flow slows down and I don’t need the maxi pads during the day or any more.

This Amazon shoe organizer is helpful for organizing shoes in a closet near the front door, the garage, or any closet. It can be stacked different configurations, too.

These Frida Mom Perineal Cooling Pad Liners are so much easier to use than the Tucks! It’s so nice to be able to have one long liner, rather than putting three Tucks in a row and sometimes one or two tucks fall off the pad.
