This Ware is just in from Food52! I reverted back to an analog timer instead of using my phone timer. I often find myself needing to set 2 timers in the kitchen, or putting something in the oven and forgetting to set my phone timer if it isn’t directly next to me. Hopefully this bright red timer residing permanently on my range will serve as a reminder.
This Ware is exciting because it’s inexpensive (<$20), which is going to be a theme here. If a Ware is inexpensive but stands the test of wear and tear, it has a place in my home (and heart). Enter my 10-in. Lodge Cast Iron Skillet. I can’t remember this Ware’s specific origin story but I’m almost certain it was from my mom while I was in college (4-5 years old) and is still in mint condition. Genuinely. I don’t subscribe to buying/owning cast iron-specific cleaning products (I’ve seen oils, scrubs, etc). To clean it, I use a handful of coarse salt and juice from a lemon. I usually use the lemon carcass to scrub any grissle. 2 side notes: 1) look how perfectly the flank steak turned out(!) and 2) this skillet came pre-seasoned. #lodge #castiron #castironpan
I hosted Cousins-giving last night and bought this All-Clad stainless steel roasting pan in advance. I was inspired by an old episode of Barefoot Contessa where Ina makes ‘Engagement Chicken.’ Thought I would try my hand at it for the occasion. The pan was great! I didn’t use the rack, just placed the chicken directly in the pan.
