Definitely Better Now by Ava Robinson ⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a great book to start off the new year! I read this one quickly as I couldn’t put it down. The story begins with Emma who is about to celebrate her 1 year of being sober. What goes through her mind as a recovering alcoholic, as someone who has tried to separate herself from her alcoholic father, and as someone who is trying to put herself back out there while navigating a new world. As someone who has not had to battle with alcoholism, it was eye opening to see all the times that they may feel uncomfortable in different situations. Parts of this book felt raw and real. I loved that this story showed that life can be messy, life can be difficult, and life can be good all at the same time. I cried and laughed alongside Emma. While there was a romance in the storyline, it wasn’t the main focus, which I appreciated. The execution was spot on! This was Robinson’s debut novel, and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next! LTKHome LTKFindsUnder50 LTKFamily
