The Dough
2¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 egg (beaten)
½ cup buttermilk (warm)
4 tbsp salted butter (melted)
2 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
2½ tsp active dry yeast
¼ cup water (warm)
½ cup sugar
Cinnamon Mixture
6 tbsp salted butter (melted)
⅓ cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
The Glaze
1¼ cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp salted butter (melted)
4 tbsp milk (warm)
INSTRUCTIONS
The Dough
Mix together warm water, yeast, and 1 tbsp sugar in a bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and leave in a warm place for 10 minutes.
Add flour, salt, egg, buttermilk, butter, and the rest of the sugar to a large mixing bowl. Form into a slightly sticky dough. Knead for 10 minutes.
Cover bowl with a damp cloth and leave in a warm place for 1.5hours
Cinnamon Mixture
Melt the butter and whisk with the brown sugar and cinnamon. Pour the mixture onto a plate.
Grease your loaf pan
Make 4 cuts in the top of the dough. Roll the dough in the cinnamon mixture, thoroughly coating it. Put in the loaf pan.
Bake at 340 F for 35-40 minutes Take out at the 15 and 30 minute marks and brush the top with more of the cinnamon mixture.
The Glaze
Warm milk in a small pot on the stove. Add butter and sugar, whisk together. Pour over warm bread or use as a dipping sauce. Enjoy!
