I feel like it creates a struggle for the eye but creates this visual interest that pulls you into a space even deeper. For example, this vintage planter that’s cracked and has the most perfect patina, paired with these fresh limelight hydrangeas. Or the burled wood tray stacked with design books and a candle vignette adjacent to the antique French bouillotte lamp. Not everything needs to be new, and not everything needs to be an antique.
