@jonesroadbeauty Just a Second $26 - this is the best cream to powder shadow!! Silky, smooths immediately, doesnt skip on the skin. Works as a wonderful base for powder eyeshadows.

@kulfi.beauty Zari Eyes in Bronze $30 — this is a shimmer bronze shadow that doesn’t crease and lasts all night!!

@beaubble Chocolate Dripped Tubing Mascara $25 — this mascara is the prettiest shade of chocolate brown! I’m a big fan of brown mascara. Makes the eyes look doe like and soft.

Kosas Blushes in Blissed and Hype $29 — These baked blushes blend so well!!! I love to put a little blush on my eyes too to make the whole look cohesive.

@personacosmetics Brown Eyeliner $16 — This eyeliner is waterproof, doesnt smudge, lasts all day and the chocolate color is beautiful!!

@rarebeauty Liquid Eyeliner $21 — this eyeliner is so easy to use. You’ll be able to create a perfect cat eye with just a few strokes! It’s super dark and doesnt smudge!

HOW TO DO A SMOKEY EYE - ASIAN EYE MAKEUP TIPS

Doing makeup on Asian eyes can be tricky, and doing smokey eye makeup in general is, so I hope these tips I learned from @kellyzhangstudio help you!!   STEP 1: Apply concealer to your lids as a base, then top with a neutral powder shadow to set the base.

STEP 2: Tight line the lash line. This will make your lashes look really thick and if you apply false lashes, it will cover any gaps between the lash band and your natural lash line. *Japanese micro eyeliners are best for tightlining. Try ISEHAN Kiss Me Heoine Smooth Liquid Eyeliner.   STEP 3: Set the tight line liner with a black powder eyeshadow to set it. *Using Chanel eyeshadows in Les 4 Ombres.

STEP 4: Apply false eyelashes. Kelly told me that @ardellbeauty 420 lashes are the best for Asian eyes because they’re wispy so they look natural.

STEP 5: Press mascara up against the false lashes so the real and fake lashes stick together.   STEP 6: Contour the lower eye using a grey matte pencil focusing on filling in the small triangle area in outer corner. *Using Kelly Zhang Studio contouring stick.   STEP 7: Once the eye shape is set with lashes/eye liner, then go back in with your eyeshadow. She said a lot of people make the mistake of doing their eyeshadow first but she said you want to shape the eye with the liner and lashes and then go in with the shadow.   And voila!! Hope this was helpful. Now let’s see if I can recreate this look once I get home lol.. we can try doing it together.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR MAKEUP LAST (in hot/humid weather)

I told makeup artist @kellyzhangstudio , girlllllllllll, it’s so hot and humid — my makeup is gonna melt off before I get to this @lamer event — what do we do?!?! Read below for her tips that indeed worked to keep my makeup looking good all night.

1. PREP:  - Pat your face with tissues to absorb excess skincare. This will help the makeup adhere.
 - Spray a layer of setting spray onto the skin and allow it to sit for a few minutes before applying a makeup primer. She used the @charlottetilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Spray and @hourglasscosmetics Veil Mineral Primer.  
2. LAYERS: By lightly layering the makeup, she said you’ll extend the life of it and help it adhere. Below is the order of makeup layers she applied —- setting spray, primer, concealer, bronzer, contour, blush, foundation, concealer, bronzer, contour, blush, powder, highlighter.

3. TISSUE + POWDER: Set the lips with powder. Take a tissue and separate the layers so that it’s thinner. Place one sheet over the lips after you’ve applied lip liner and lipstick and dust the lips with powder. Apply another layer of lip color and then powder them again. This will make sure your lipstick doesn’t move all night! Wearing @kellyzhangmakeup Signature Matte Lipstick in Alexa.

flew to NYC for less than 24hrs to speak on a panel at Tiktok headquarters and all I could think about on the flight was my husband’s words on our most recent date night...
