Today I’m finally cleaning out the nursery closet. Baby clothes can be so hard to deal with because they pile up quickly since nothing lasts very long and there’s a lot of difficult to store items that aren’t in other closets.

This took a little longer but it’s so much easier to find things now and was worth the effort.

Here’s what I did to make this small space more functional:

🚦 I added an over the door rack that works for narrow 🚪 . This is an easy way to store seasonal or less used items on top and toys that need to be kept contained closer to the bottom.

⭐️ I added a valet rod to the wire shelf that makes it easy to set out the weeks clothes ahead of time and simplifies my mornings.

🪝I got rid of all of the excess hangers taking up valuable hanging space and stored them for future use in a sweater keeper.

💙 I cleared out 📦 and items we no longer need and freed up floor space for a 🧺

Moving on to the silverware drawer which had reached the level of who knows whats in there and was another area driving me crazy.

It only took a short amount of time to clean and reorganize. This new setup ended up working so well especially because I’m now able to separate sharp steak knives from the rest of the 🍴.

It was a very satisfying project as we use this drawer so many times a day and it’s nice to see a clean and easy to maintain system every time I open it✨

I wish I had done this sooner! We had to pivot from our art cart to this vertical organization solution because 🛒 kept getting knocked over by my littlest one.

A few years ago I did a serious clean out of my closet but it wasn’t enough and I found that I only really wore a small portion of my clothes. So, I decided to 🛍️ shop my closet and here’s what happened ⤵️

🧥When I looked at it from the POV of shopping, as in would I buy it again, very few items made the cut.

👀I realized I couldn’t even see or find my favorite and most comfortable items.

✨I decided I was only going to put back the things I actually liked wearing and felt good in. Wow was that freeing (physically and mentally).

👏🏼Now when I look at my options in the morning I can actually put an outfit together when before I didn’t know where to start.

If you have a metal 🚪 this works well as it’s all 🧲. I put all the artwork, letters, forms and 📝 in these file jackets until I’m ready to deal with them or the night before they need to get to their destination.
