Relationships matter, and it’s the people I’ve met along the way who truly mean the most. After being away from home for several days, the last thing I wanted to do was (1) go to a dermatologist appointment and (2) attend a gala the next day. My purpose, however, is so much bigger and more important to me than outfits and decor. As I remind each of you to get wellness checks, I hold myself accountable to my own. In 25 years of INTEGRIS galas, Randy and I have attended most. This year’s theme—Lighting the Way—benefitted the Future of Cancer Care. Having lost Randy’s dad and so many other friends and family members to the hateful disease, supporting a gala and giving back means everything to us. Thank you to the @thedoubletakegirls, for helping last minute with my dress, one long enough to hide a bandaid on the back of my leg, covering another skin biopsy (benign, thank goodness!).
