-11 months-

I’ve really been slacking on these milestone photos y’all 🤦🏼‍♀️ but I finally took Brady’s 11 month pics today and he was such a HAM 🙃

Here are a few things that BB has been up to the past month:

+ “Mama” is officially his go-to word. It melts me every time! He babbles nonstop and makes a new sound every day.

+ He has 8 teeth and more are definitely trying to push through.

+ He looooves walking and took his first steps! We’re still helping him walk around, but he’s practically sprinting while holding our hands and is getting so much more confident standing on his own.

+ He’s growing like a weed and is officially in 12-18 month clothing.

+ His new favorite foods are turkey, watermelon, blueberry/veggie muffins, & Dr Praeger’s broccoli bites. Although, if we decided to let him eat teething crackers for the rest of his life, he’d be stoked 🤣

I can’t wait to see what the next few weeks are like before my baby turns ONE! 🥹

-9 MONTHS OLD-

Another month has flown by and Brady is 9 months old! I feel like his first birthday is going to be here before we know it, soooo I might be planning his party already. 🎉✨ We are loving this age and have had a blast seeing Brady’s personality change every day. He’s constantly giggling, babbling, & obsessing over Dixie! Here are some new things he’s done over the past month:

+ We took our second road trip to Dallas as a family of three so Brady could attend his first wedding! We loved seeing @kylie get married and Brady finally got to meet more of his family 🤍

+ He’s finally interested in sitting up and doesn’t instantly try to lay down the second I prop him up 🤣 He has so much fun with his soft blocks and stacking cups, even if he mostly throws them around, lol.

+ He wants to chew everything in sight. His top middle teeth are coming in!

+ He’s growing out of EVERYTHING. We are officially obsessed with @kyte pajamas because of how stretchy they are. We switched Brady to their sleep sacks too!

+ He constantly wants to bounce/jump and it’s the cutest thing ever.

+ We just changed out his car seat because he’s getting so dang long. Where did my baby go?! 😩

-8 months old-

HOW?! I truly don’t know how Brady is already 8 months old. My mind is blown. I was renewing our @costco memberships today & the woman helping me asked how old he was. When I answered her, she reacted as many people do, shocked. 🤣 Everyone expects him to be so much older! This past month has been beyond fun and this has truly been my favorite age. Here are a few new things about Brady:

+ He learned how to drink from a straw! 👏🏼

+ I think he’s finally trying to say mama. It comes out as babababababa, but he’s definitely making the effort. A girl can dream! 😭😩

+ He becomes more and more obsessed with Dixie every day and I love it. Whether she’s just standing there, running in the yard, or licking his feet, he giggles at her. It’s the cutest thing ever.

+ We are working on what the word “gentle” means and how not to smack my glasses off my face. Of course, it’s a work in progress, lol.

+ He’s almost dropping that third nap, it just depends on the day. But his wake windows have gotten much longer!

+ He had his 4th round trip flight to and from San Diego. Grandma & grandpa Akin (and uncle Coco, I guess 😉) babysat so Josh and I could attend our first wedding since Brady was born. We had the best time with Josh’s family & even made it home in time to put him down for the night!

So excited to see what the next month brings! 💛

Brady is 7 months old!

Technically BB turned 7 months old last week, but this post is a bit delayed because we were at the peak of our sickness. Our little buddy has been a trooper, we couldn’t be more grateful for him! Here are some highlights from the past month:

+ Brady celebrated his first Christmas! We had the best time making memories with family.
+ We’ve introduced more solids over the past month. He officially would rather feed himself than have us feed him.
+ His obsession with Dixie has become extremely real the past month. He giggles at her, even when she’s just laying there. 🤣
+ He outgrew his bouncer and it weirdly made me emotional. He’s getting so big!

-6 months-

I can’t believe that Brady hit the 6 month milestone last weekend. How the heck are we here already?! You truly don’t understand how quickly time passes until you become a parent. Watching my son grow has been the greatest blessing of my life, but I wish time would SLOW DOWN. Here are some changes and milestones that have happened in the past month:

-Brady has two teeth coming in on the bottom! I love seeing them when he laughs.
-He’s 19lbs 2oz (80th percentile), 28.5” (99th percentile), & his head circumference is 18.5 (99th percentile)
-We are working on sitting up and spending more time in the high chair. Sometimes he’s a fan, sometimes he isn’t. It’s a work in progress!
-We’ve introduced solids into the mix of purées. He tried avocado and banana today. Loved both!
-We moved him into his own room on Sunday and it’s been a huge adjustment for me, but not for him, haha! He’s been sleeping like a champ and I think he really loves it. I’m not sleeping well at all, but hopefully that’ll change with time.
-He’s reeeeally discovered his feet and has so much fun playing with them while laying on his back.
-He loves standing and honestly just pushes off on his feet any time I try to sit him up on the ground. While it seems like he kind of wants to crawl, I am super curious to see if he’ll skip it all together 🤷🏼‍♀️

I can’t wait to see what another month brings!

-4 MONTHS-

Somehow, our little guy is 4 months old! He’s changing every single day, so we are really trying to soak up this sweet time with him. It’s hard not to get excited about the next milestone he will hit, but so many people tell me how much they miss these days, so I’m doing my best to live in the moment. It’s such a blessing that I get to be home with him every day and something I will never take for granted. Even on the most exhausting days when Josh is at work for what seems like forever, I remind myself that I truly will miss these days of our one on one time.

Here are a few exciting things that have happened since last month:
+ Brady can roll over from front to back
+ He constantly wants to be chewing on something
+ He sleeps anywhere from 9-12 1/2 hours each night. Thank God for the @magicsuit. Not banking on this lasting much longer knowing that the regression can hit at any second, but I’m grateful for sure!
+ He is starting to notice Dixie more (and vice versa)
+ We moved out of the apartment we brought him home to and into our first home! He finally has a nursery all to himself that I can’t wait to decorate.

So excited to see what month 5 brings!

Had to have one last photo session at the apartment! I set Brady down to change his diaper while we were cleaning today and had to snap this precious pic 💛🥰

I was shocked by how emotional I was leaving our apartment today knowing that we would never be back. I adored that apartment, was in love with the location, & obviously it holds a special place in my heart because we started our family there. We hosted lots of out of town guests (our fave thing ever), had so much fun decorating, & enjoyed countless precious moments with Brady in that thousand square feet.

Change is hard on me & I haven’t had a solid nights sleep in a while, but I know that settling into this new home will be just as special. I am beyond excited for our next chapter as a family!

Welcoming fall with open arms and rocking our loungewear. Honestly, I’m very much in a phase where sweatpants/leggings & oversized anything is all that fits me right now. It’s been a struggle to take care of myself while also working, unpacking, & making sure this little guy is happy as can be. Doing my best to plan out a routine, meal schedule, workouts, etc. so I can be the mom & wife my family deserves. To all the other mamas struggling out there, I see you!
