Long sappy and emotional post ahead: Growing up, I didn’t see women that looked like me portrayed in a positive light. Think Rosemary in Shallow Hal, Monica in Friends. The big girls were the targets of hurtful “jokes” or they played the quirky side character. Never the main character… So I decided to become her. The main character. The girl who went for it, smiling for the camera, showing my cute outfits, and I’ve watched as this wonderful community has grown with women of all sizes! And now here I am, at LTKCon. I put this on my vision board for this year and it happened, truly a pinch me moment 😭 At times, especially right now, I feel like society can’t stand to see a big girl succeed. A big girl shouldn’t be seen. Shouldn’t be confident. Shouldn’t be happy. But again, here I am. My size is the center of so many conversations both online and offline. I’m not deterred. I’m not cowering. I’m simply living my life, wearing cute outfits, and just so happen to be in a larger body. So whether you look like me or not, I thank you for being here! If you are here for the laughs, the Sunday Inspo, the fashion ideas, or the encouragement to live boldly and confidently, you’ve gotten me here. And I’ll never take that for granted. Cheers to growth, confidence, community, and looking killer in a body hugging dress! If you take nothing else from this post, let it be this: be the girl who goes for it ✨ LTKPlusSize LTKCon LTKParties
