Picks from my try on at lululemon this weekend! I had the morning off as mom so I took myself to lulu to try on some items I’ve been eyeing.

I don’t know about yall but I’m never sure my size there so I thought I’d share what fit best in each item for me to help you with shopping. For reference I’m 5’5” 125lbs and generally wear a 25 pants and xs/sm tops.

🖤Lululemon Align dress: looooved and bought this one. It is more pricey than some of the other LBD athletic dresses I’ve tried on BUT you can go potty without taking off the whole dress. And as a mom, that sold it for me. Wear a 6 in this dress.

🖤 Lululemon Align Tank: Recommend sizing up. I took at 8 and I’m small chested.

🖤Lululemon HR Hottie Shorts: I took a 4 and totally digging the pastel blues and greens this season.

🖤Ebb Cross Racer back tank. I took a 6. Loved the ribbing. Would make a great basic in white and black.

🖤I also tried on the dance studio HR short. These are great if you want an easy pull on short that’s an appropriate mom length.

🖤 Lastly I tried on the pleated tennis skirt in black. I took a 6. It felt to short as the pleating came above the biker under pants for me so I passed.

What are your lulu faves

So many great items for summer in the dollar section at target right now! I have rising JK and PreK3 kiddos and these items are perfect for all of the items on their summer math and literacy leaning lists.

From flash cards to memory games to fine motor skills, they have groupings that are appropriate for 1st, K, PreK and rising PreK.

Obsessed! And so grateful that reviewing these skills this summer will be easier and fun now

Your favorites this week include the forever and always favorite west elm lumini rug dupe. Here’s the full list:

We got a ruggable! Here is what I did before deciding to buy one:

I was defiant skeptical about buying a washable rug. I read tons of reviews on Reddit and polled my Instagram family. It was still unclear so I decided to do my own research.

Did you know you can request swatches from ruggable? I ordered 3 and they even sent me the different padding that goes under the rugs.

I tested the samples with coffee and red wine and was able to get both stains out using my little green machine and folex without damaging the rug.

Here’s what I learned:
If you are buying a rug larger than 8x10 washing the entire rug is a pain and unreasonable. We bought a 9 x 12 and my approach will be to spot clean using the green machine and folex.

I also learned that steam cleaning a ruggable isn’t a great option bc it can damage your floors from the wetness and hear.

I got a 15% off discount simply by leaving the rug in my cart when I had almost checked out. Ruggable then sent me a cart reminder email with the additional discount. You can always save 10% through email sign up.

Rolling out the rug: I found rolling it out to be no big deal. I have done this several times in my role as a personal assistant so I’ve had practice. The rug comes in a box and it’s folded up. Watch the video and follow the directions AND roll your rug and line it up first, then roll it over the padding. Then you can just smooth as you go (I’ll load a whole video on this!).

When you go to buy, get the swatch but also look at the scale of the design on the size rug you are purchasing. You can do this online by selecting the size of your rug. They scale and look of the rug varies immensely among the size of the rugs.

Overall impression: LOVE! I’m obsessed. I got the standard high traffic version of this rug. I noticed that the tufted looked lighter on the computer and I loved the color of my high traffic sample. I’m so glad I got this. It’s not a rug to cuddle on the floor but it’s durable, beautiful and perfect for our family with kids and dogs

Digging this errands dress for hot summer days. Great for a summer kids party (wishing I had this at Tommy’s 5th outdoor bounce house last week 😅).

Miracle face cream! 10 weeks in and my skin has completely changed.

A few things to note: this is a retinol cream. I was hesitant to start it and I’m so glad I did.

You will experience redness, itching throughout and skin sensitivity especially in the first few weeks of using the product. Retinol/vitamin A absorbs through your skin and into your bloodstream so you may experience skin sensitivity in other areas of your body. For example, one night behind my knees itches!

Start slow alternating days as your face builds up a tolerance. My aesthetition recommended that I start on ,25 every other day. Now I am at 1% daily. I didn’t really start to see change until I switched to 1% but I’m glad I started on a lower does.

Moisturize! Your skin will be sensitive and dry at first. My drugstore ponds was perfect for this and I know helped reduced peeling and overall redness. Your skin is also more sensitive to sun so find a good daily sunscreen - linking my favorite below.

Exfoliate with a soft cloth and gentle face cleanser regularly. Retinol helps speed up the skins renewal process leaving you with fresh skin, reduced fine lines and increased smoothness but you do have to help remove the peeling.

I experienced more redness than extreme peeling. I had a few days where I couldn’t wear makeup due to the peeling. Some people experience both or the opposite. I will say you have to commit - don’t quit! Keep going for at least 8-10 weeks. .

I tried St Tropez self tanner. Here’s what I thought and what I’d recommend after trying it:

Application: Loved the mitt. I’ve never used one before and it made it super easy to apply and mess free. The tanner does dry quickly and I could see it was making some spots that are still there this morning. I do think I can easily smooth them out after a shower and using a washcloth.

Prep is key. Exfoliate everywhere and shave. Put body lotion on ankles, elbows, wrists and knees. This is true for any self tanner so no difference here.

Best part: Non sticky and fast drying. Did not transfer to my clothes or bedding. You can shower within 8 hours.

Overall impression: Prep is key. The mitt is a game changer. Both were more impactful that the more expensive self tanner. I think you can get the same results with a drug store self tanner if you use the mitt and good prep.
