Magnolia wreath, Target, Michael’s, home decor, front porch decor, fall, winter, Christmas
➡️Supply List:
- $20 Magnolia Wreath from Target
- $5 Red Berry Picks from Target
- $13 each Cedar Stems from Michael’s (I used 3!)- mine has red berries, but online they show one with pine ones too! Use a coupon or grab on sale!
- Floral tape & wire (I used green, but the wreath backing is brown - so get brown!)
➡️Steps:
I’m no wreath making expert, the last wreath I made was during the burlap craze - remember that one?
I ditched the silver leaves on the magnolia wreath because, blech, they were ugly. Gold was fine though so I left it! (I thought about painting and tried to spray paint one leaf, but didn’t like it.) I also tried to hot glue stems in place and that didn’t work either.
Lay out the stems to get an idea of where they should go to add the perfect amount of fluff and cedar (or cypress!) to the wreath! Once you have them where you want them, start wrapping wire around the stems to hold them in place. I tried to do this without removing the stems again - it’s possible!
Once everything is wrapped with wire, wrap the wire and stems with floral tape at the base of the stem to secure it further. The floral tape will stick to itself when you press it. Don’t wrap the “leafy” parts of the cypress, just the stem to secure it to the wreath!
Then, tuck some of the berry picks into the tape or wrap those with wire/tape as well. I probably could have added more berries but I was running out of daylight!
Overall, this wreath cost about an hour of time while the kids were playing & around $40 using coupons & getting things on sale!
