Day 8: St. Augustine

It was a slow & rainy morning so we took our time & ate breakfast & lunch at the house. We headed back into St. Augustine in the afternoon to tour the Colonial Quarter (the kids loved it!) & walked around a little more before ending up at a Mexican restaurant for dinner.

I just really love going anywhere with them 🩷 I’ve been really slacking on finishing up our trip itinerary (I don’t like to post until we’re home!) so here’s Day 7:

We had another slow morning before heading over to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm & Zoological Park. It was really awesome & had so much more than I expected! Then we drove to the St. Augustine Lighthouse just to check it out- we decided not to go in. From there we went to the Conch Marina for lunch right on the water & it was delicious! Joe’s parents cooked us dinner at home & it was just a really nice night. I could have used another day like this!

Day 6: Crescent Beach, FL

There’s not much that makes me happier than a cup of hot coffee on the beach in the morning. The walk to the beach & over the dunes was beautiful! It was such a nice day this day & we were outside for most of it. We hung by the pool in the afternoon & used the putting green a lot (it was a little too chilly to swim) & then went to @Saltlifefoodshack_og for dinner. The food was delicious! If you go, definitely get dessert 🌊🍍

The Bougainvillea in Florida was stunning. This matching workout set was perfect for walking around & going from the zoo to lunch! I wore my Allbirds the entire trip & this belt bag everywhere!

Day 5: St. Augustine

We had a leisurely morning & ate breakfast at home before getting ready to head into downtown St. Augustine. We parked in a garage in the historic district & it was the perfect location! We passed the Old City Gate & walked down St. George Street, a walking only street, to get to the Pirate & Treasure Museum. There were a ton of interactive parts for the kids & also a “treasure hunt” of sorts that they really enjoyed. We then wandered over to the Castillo de San Marcos to check it out from a closer distance but decided to walk around town instead of going inside. We grabbed lunch at a little seafood restaurant (where none of us got seafood 🍤 😂) & walked to Aviles Street, the oldest street in the U.S., to do an audio tour of the Ximenez-Fatio house that was really cool to see. Then we got ice cream at Tedi’s, stopped for a quick coffee, & went to Meehan’s Irish Pub for dinner. It was a fun day!

Day 3: Charleston

We had the best day exploring Charleston! We ordered room service for breakfast the night before so it would be delivered when we woke up the next morning (sometimes sitting down for meals in restaurants takes up so much extra time!) & then immediately left to explore! Our first stop was Rainbow Row. From there we walked to the Battery & then to the Nathaniel Russel House where we did a self guided audio tour. The house & gardens were beautiful & we all loved it! They give you each a headset & it kept the kids engaged the entire time. Then we headed to King Street for some shopping, got vegan ice cream at Off Track, went to T Bonz for lunch, & walked the City Market. We got back to the hotel kind of late in the day so we all showered & then took a quick walk to the Pineapple Fountain to watch the sunset. For dinner, we ordered pizza from Frannie & the Fox & spent the rest of the night cuddled up in bed.
