Shampoos and conditioners I use to clarify and moisturize my relaxed hair.

Our scalps are important because that’s where our hair grows from. But our scalps often get ignored. That’s why I’ve started giving my scalp a little love by exfoliating.

When I exfoliate I’m removing dead skin cells, improving circulation, and removing buildup from products, sweat, and oils. All of which helps my scalp grow healthy and beautiful hair.

Wash day products in and out of the shower.

In the shower I used the Joico Moisture Recovery shampoo, Mielle Sea Moss Anti-shedding Shampoo, and Mielle Sea Moss Anti-shedding Gel Hair Masque.

Out of the shower I used the Mielle White Peony Leave In Conditioner, Mielle Thermal And Heat Protectant, and Olaplex #9 Bond Protector Nourishing Hair Serum.

These are the tools I use to wash my hair
- wide tooth comb
- applicator bottle
- spray bottle
- claw clips
- old, clean t-shirt (a microfiber towel is a good alternative)

When I clarify my hair I want to make sure that I use a shampoo that will get all of the dirt, product, and oil that have built up over time and give my hair a deep clean that my other shampoos aren't mad to do. I also want to make sure that I'm not damaging my hair creating unnecessary problems.

When I've been doing a clarifying wash day these are the products I've been using:
-A pre-poo that is a mix of two conditioners is my starting point. For my last clarifying wash I mixed the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist and the Eden BodyWorks Lavender and Aloe Anti Breakage Deep Conditioner.
-The ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo which I use for clarifying because it's not drying. I only use this for my first lather.
-The TGIN Moisture Rich Sulfate Free Shampoo is used for my second lather because it's a moisturizing shampoo and brings some moisture back to my hair.
-A protein treatment using the Aphogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor
-The Eden BodyWorks Almond Marshmallow Split End Repair Masque for some serious hydration

The TGIN Moisture Ruch Sulfate Free Shampoo is my favorite protein-free and sulfate free shampoo to use on my relaxed hair because
* It’s protein-free so I don’t have to worry about giving my hair too much protein if the other products I use have protein ingredients
* I’ve found that I can shampoo my hair with it 2 or 3 times and my hair doesn’t feel stripped of all moisture
* It actually feels like the shampoo is adding moisture back to my hair.
* This is one of the best lathering shampoos I’ve used in a while. It’s really easy to work it into a lather
* It’s easy to buy since it’s sold in multiple places - TGIN’s site, Ulta, Amazon, and several other stores
* It seems to be on sale every month so you can cost-effectively stock up

Weekends are, partly, for washing hair. This week I washed my hair Saturday evening. I did a really lazy and quick 10-15 minute pre-poo using the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner on my ends only.

I followed that up with one lather of the Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo.

I decided that for the next few weeks I’ll be using the Creme Of Nature PLEX Bond Mender Pre-Treatment. After that I did another shampoo lather. Typically I would use the TGIN Moisture Rich shampoo but I forgot to bring it into the shower with me and decided to use the Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo again. I didn’t notice any negative difference in my hair from doing that.

I deep conditioned using my trusty TGIN Miracle RepaiRx Deep Hydrating Hair Mask mixed with some Jamaican Black Castor Oil and Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner. After putting the conditioner on I sat under my steamer for 20-25 minutes, let my hair cool for 10 minutes, and rinsed out the conditioner mix.
