Home upgrade that’s easy, all you need is a screwdriver to change a regular outlet switch plate to a lighted outlet. I find having a few lit outlets in the hallway and common areas elevates your living space for low cost and low effort.

NO wiring needed! Just take off the existing plate and slide this one over. The hallway lights turn on at dusk when darkness is sensed, and turns off in daylight.

While updating our home, I decided to switch the bathroom door knobs to crystal knobs. It’s easier to just tell house guests that the clear acrylic 💎 knobs are the restrooms.

The best thing I’ve done to our outdoor space was adding - SMART OUTDOOR LIGHTS - Automated Routine/Timer and Dimmable for ambiance and control via Alexa.

The lights only come on in our backyard between certain hours and only if the conditions are right- not on evenings that are too chilly! That’s smart, but to take it up a notch, our lights have a bedtime that I’ve set for them to auto shut off so no one in the family has to remember to turn them off.

🗣️We can ask Alexa to turn off the Backyard (turning off all smart enabled devices in my yard including the string lights) or just say “goodnight Alexa” which I’ve programmed to shut off all smart lights by voice command.

Use the dimmer feature to create perfect ambiance for lounging on the patio on crisp Fall evenings.

Everything I’ve linked is waterproof or water resistant enough for the heavy rains we get on the gulf coast Houston, Texas, including the cafe lights, string light poles to hang the lights from, as well as the solar fence lights shown on the far right.

Don’t be like me, and wait till November to get these outdoor RGB lights! 🎃I got them last Fall and used them for our holiday decorating. I wanted to light up our house, but needed to save the money on a licensed pro to hang Christmas lights. I am SO excited to use these for Halloween decorations this year! 👻

I’m SO OVER paying for batteries and throwing them away when they run out! I choose rechargeable devices over battery powered whenever possible, but sometimes we can’t avoid it!

Enter: RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES! 🔋🙌🏽

A while ago I tried my first set of rechargeable AA batteries and it has been such a game changer! I use them often to run our battery powered devices (this came in very handy last holiday season for specialty decorations and fairy lights).

They’re easy to charge, each set of 4 batteries comes with 2 special USB cords that charge two batteries on each at once. You don’t need to have a charging dock or anything that takes up counter space to keep these batteries charged!

I love our reusable batteries so much that I’ve added a new set of AAA batteries to our stash!

Last summer we spruced up our backyard with some much needed shade and patio seating. This year, we’re adding more green to the yard. I lit up our outdoor space by rehanging, our outdoor café lights in a zigzag pattern, but this time I upgraded the hangers to heavy duty string light poles that securely stake into the ground.

I also added water resistant protective covers for the outdoor plug connections. The lights that I am using in the back yard as well as the extension cords are all water resistant however, I have these leftover from waterproofing, holiday, decorations and thought why not put them to use?!

For holidays, swap out some colorful LED string light replacement bulbs for a festive patio.

To take it to the next level- I added a smart outdoor plug (which has one of the best apps for controlling smart devices that I have ever used!!). The app allows me to program routines and schedules for my lights to turn on and off, and they can also be controlled by voice using our Alexa devices. In the late evenings, I never have to worry about turning the lights off myself, they will either go off at the time that they are supposed to or when we choose to shut them off. I am a big fan of smart devices inside of my home, it only makes sense to utilize them outside as well!

This has transformed the ambience in our backyard and patio space. The family cannot wait to enjoy the outdoors more during this spring and summer season.

This umbrella is a triple sized umbrella that opens up wide and is single-handed operation! This large large patio umbrella provides just as much shade as my 10 x 12 pergola does over our backyard but it required no installation besides setting up the base (yes the weighted base is included!).

We got this 2 summers ago and I have never been happier to report that it is still in great condition. We keep it uncovered, most of the summer season, but I do cover it for extreme weather with a waterproof cover.

It’s a summertime must have! The bugs are on another level this year! To keep pests away, I’ve been swatting them with this electric fly swatter. It works on mosquitoes, gnats, and even wasps! ⚡️🪰🦟⚡️

Aside from being used in racket mode, you can set it in the base and leave on so continuously attract and zap and mosquito or fly that gets drawn to the light. The one I got even comes with an extension pole which is super handy for swatting a bug that’s *just* out of reach.

Need to give large plants a DEEP 💧 watering? I get a big job done with this super cute plant potting mat. It’s multi purpose because the plant mat catches any loose soil when I’m potting up plants in the springtime AND it can be used to catch any excess water from deeply watering houseplants!

A happy tropical houseplant needs to be ~throughly and deeply~ watered meaning watered until excess water is running out of the bottom of the pot. So a pot must have drainage holes for well draining soil, plants don’t like for their “feet” to stay wet.

When I’m done watering and have allowed the excess water to drain off, I take the plant off the mat and dump the water. The mat unsnaps flat and then you it up for storage! I love the iridescent effect of this holographic style mat

When it’s watering day for your houseplants but you have a big beautiful plant that’s too big to put in the sink to water… what’s a plant parent to do??

Put a large plant re- potting mat under your large potted plants and water away! I use this iridescent mat whenever I need to water big plants that are too much hassle to move. Obviously it’s great for catch loose soil when repotting plants, but this mat is most often used in our home when I need to water my plants. This large monstera gets watered deeply and the excess is allowed to drain off into the mat

Paint and primer in one that actually covers! I used this indoor paint on textured walls and to paint the ceiling! The colors can be ordered in Sherwin Williams shades and delivered to your door. The cools to extend and reach up to the ceiling and detail tools for trim areas and corners are also linked.

This paint color brightened up our kitchen, I knew I had to bring it into the dining room as well.

This is how you paint over dark colors! One coat provides so much coverage, a lighter second coat fully covers - even this dark paint is covered in about 2 coats for full coverage

It’s the beginning of the week, so it’s time for our weekly reset, and I start by preparing a fresh batch of our families, favorite all in one cleaner that disinfect and sanitizes.

I love that it is all natural, made of salt, water, vinegar that has been electrolyzed to give it cleaning power that is safe and gentle for use in cleaning hospitals, schools, and daycare, as well as our home.

Create a hat wall at home by installing some hat hangers! This is a focal point right in my entry way so it’s easy to grab a great hat on our way out, and there’s a place to hang your hat when you get home.

We went with a western style for our hat wall- horseshoe shaped cowboy hat hangers let hats rest without leaning on the wall. We also added some adjustable hat hanger hooks that can be shaped to hold hats of all sizes and styles just right.

Once everything was spaced out the way I liked it on the wall, I used my little drill to install the hooks/hangers.

Spring time gets me in the mood to refresh and redecorate our home! Are you ready for a room makeover?

A couple years ago I painted our dining room, making the space much brighter and bringing in the light with a Sherwin Williams color that I got in a paint that COVERS. Paint and primer in one is completely worth it for the amazing paint coverage that can be achieved in fewer coats. The paint has held up so well with kids, dog and everything… and our dining room pulls in so much more light!

I’m refreshing our home office space and had to grab the stick vacuum to pick up the mess a dropped dustpan made. This vacuum is lightweight enough that it can be used by every member of the family 😉 even the kids! It most often gets used by the kiddo we pay to vacuum up his pet’s hair, and does a good job for a small stick vac and the light helps you see all the dust to be picked up
