Speaking from my experience, using retinoids is one thing that has significantly changed my skin. I started being very mindful about what I used in my early 30s. Now, I suggest everyone in their late 20s and early 30s use a retinoid product that they can tolerate and use consistently. With retinoids, it’s not about how strong they are; it’s about how consistent you are with them.

I know tretinoin is the gold standard for wrinkles, fine lines, texture, and acne, but I can’t use it consistently because it’s irritating for my skin. I prefer retinal instead.

I’m loving the new @paulaschoice PRO Retinaldehyde Dual-Retinoid Treatment. It has retinaldehyde and adapalene. Retinaldehyde is the closest to retinoic acid, and it works faster and is more effective than retinol for me. It doesn’t irritate my skin like some retinols do. Adapalene is a form of retinoid with many studies backing it as one of the best ingredients for acne. The texture is creamy and works well with other products.

- @Murad Skincare Retinal ReSculpt Overnight Treatment feels like a moisturizer. It contains encapsulated retinal, kangaroo paw flower extract, and olive, oat, and alpha-glucan. This is definitely a great nighttime treatment that helps with fine lines and texture while nourishing the skin.

- @medik8_usa Crystal Retinal has been a regular in my routine. It works well for my skin, but I find the texture and scent not as good as the previous three retinals.

What to do with clogged pores and sebaceous filaments?

One of the best things to use is a chemical exfoliant with AHAs or BHAs. However, if you’re looking to exfoliate and see immediate, satisfying results, try incorporating oil gritting or oil pulling. Massage an oil cleanser into your skin for more than 5 minutes. The idea is that oil attracts oil, so when you massage an oil onto your skin, it helps draw out the oil and loosens the sebaceous filaments.

One important thing to remember about this technique is that you will continue to have buildup unless you also use a chemical exfoliant. This technique is particularly effective for those with oily skin, but it may be too drying for people with dry skin. I like to use cleansing oils such as @mixsoon_usa Bean Cleansing Oil and @skin1004official Centella Light Cleansing Oil.

I haven’t done a peel before. This is my first time trying this popular peel. I know there are benefits to using peels, but I’m hesitant because of all the peel videos I’ve seen on TikTok. However, I figured I’d start slowly with gentler peels.

**How to Use:**

1.Step 1:On clean skin, use the first step containing AHA/BHA to exfoliate dead skin and improve texture. Wait for 2 minutes and do not rinse.
2. Step 2:This step includes retinol and green tea to target aging and provide hydration. Do not rinse. Follow up with a hydrating serum and a nourishing cream.

The box suggests using it daily, but I’ll start with once a week! The first step feels a little spicy for me!

@Kérastase just released their new ELIXIR ULTIME ORIGINAL HAIR OIL in the US. This has a lighter texture than the original version, making it great for fine hair! It smells divine, and it comes in refillable packaging. It gives a lot of shine and is a good heat protectant. It’s 25 ml less and more expensive than the original version. Overall, if they discontinue the original version, I will probably purchase this!

I’m obsessed with this @skin1004official Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Intensive Ampoule! It contains Centella Asiatica extract, glycerin, and niacinamide. It’s concentrated and provides excellent hydration! I’m always searching for good, affordable hydrating products for my dry skin. You all know I do not want dehydrated skin! If you have heard of Glutathione, its antioxidant properties help with hyperpigmentation and discoloration. This has a milky texture, and I love how hydrating it is. The mist is fine.

- @cosrx Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream Mist is packed with hydrating and nourishing ingredients such as Ceramide-6 Complex and Panthenol. As you can tell, I love this mist. It’s nourishing and leaves my skin hydrated and glowing. It also has a very, very fine mist.

@tocobo_us Cotton Soft Sun Stick SPF50 PA++++ feels soft and soothing on the skin. It glides beautifully without leaving a greasy finish. I don’t like the scent, but it goes away quickly.

@hydrinity_skincare HYACYN ACTIVE with hypochlorous acid mist has a really nice fine mist and is hydrating. Hypochlorous acid has antimicrobial properties, so it can be helpful for acne prone skin. It’s also good to use after the gym.

@tatcha THE KISSU LIP TINT SPF 25 in plum blossom has a pretty tint and packaging. It doesn’t leave a smooth finish like I wanted it to, but the tint is pigmented.

I’m picky when it comes to sunscreens. I’m not a fan of thick sunscreens and only repurchase lightweight ones. This is why I prefer Asian sunscreens! But these two sunscreens from @paulaschoice are too good to pass up.

💦 Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 is a chemical sunscreen that is very light on the skin. At times, it can be too liquidy, as you can tell, but it goes on nicely without being greasy. This is probably one of the American sunscreens I repurchase. It does have a strong chemical scent, but it goes away quickly.

✨ 5% Vitamin C Sheer Moisturizer SPF 50 is their new chemical sunscreen that has vitamin C. The texture is lovely—not as watery as the hydrating sunscreen—but it goes on beautifully. It also has a slight tint that brightens the skin a bit. Overall, a good lightweight sunscreen.
