From dark and scary to bright and airy—just the way we like our transformations around here.

3 of the best things we included in our kitchen renovation are:

1. Paneled appliances— just look at how seamless the dishwasher is in comparison to before. Makes me swoon.
2. Cabinets or drawers for everything we didn’t want on the counters (bye bye microwave and plastic cutting boards)
3. Planned our layout around a bigger, centered window for more natural light. I was set on not having the screen on the inside of the window so we went with double hung (traditional slide up window) instead of casement (crank).

Is a pot filler worth the money?

Well, if you want a ridiculously beautiful brass baby that patinas ever so sweetly over time…and also makes filling your pasta water endlessly enjoyable…then YES.

Truth be told, a pot filler is a luxury. It’s totally not necessary, but it is one of those pieces that adds that something special to a range wall and also adds function so you get the best of both worlds.

I dreamt of our unlacquered brass @perrinandrowe pot filler even before we had kitchen renovation plans and I’m so glad we included it. It honestly makes me happy every single day…even when I catch myself filling my pot up at the sink because I forget it actually does something other than look gorgeous.

Life with 3 kids comes with a lot of iPads, smart watches, drones, and basically anything that has a cord. My dream for this kitchen was to have a place to tuck it all away so my countertops would be clear. (Good one, right?)

The @dockingdrawer charging outlet seamlessly integrated with our cabinetry so you can’t even tell it’s there. We are all able to charge our fitbits, phones and everything else without taking up precious counter space. It’s been a saving grace and I don’t think I’ll ever design another drawer without a @dockingdrawer outlet in it.

Having an unlacquered brass pot filler in my kitchen is my definition of living the dream.

We started our kitchen renovation 7 months ago and this pot filler from @perrinandrowe was one of the first things I included in my design. The cross lever handles are to die for with their cute little white porcelain knobs. Ok I’m gushing. Anyway, it was worth the wait and I hope my family’s ready to eat pasta every single day from now on.
