Chances are, if you own a home, and have done any updating in the last five years there’s a really good chance you have some sort of gray furniture and some version of off-white walls. Amirite? 😏 As design trends have shifted towards warmer tones, we hear a lot of clients say they feel like they need to replace their entire collection of furniture and decor; however, we’re here to show you how to stay current with your design style without replacing everything! In this design we started with gray couches from @roomstogo with walls painted in @sherwinwilliams Alabaster. First we added a warm, neutral colored rug that added some tones of browns and taupes, but also incorporated the gray details from the couch. Next, we added some darker wood furniture… Coordinated, but not matching! It’s always nice to have pieces from various collections that work together so that if you ever have to replace an item, you don’t feel compelled to replace the entire room. Next, we updated the throw pillows which brought instant visual design, texture, and brightness to the sofas, and made them feel more tied into the space. By updating dated ceiling fans with more modern light fixtures, adding table lighting, and a new light chair, it’s as if we suddenly added the perfect earrings to an outfit for an evening out. It just works! Lastly, we were able to add some trending decor pieces to the coffee table, as well as a cozy and inviting landscape artwork on the wall. Just switching up your décor pieces is a really great way to make a big impact without blowing the budget.
